Chapter 2238 - Bee-headed Person

When Tianming opened his eyes to take a proper look, green waves swept in front of him. Loud shrieks and other sounds rang out around him as countless figures flew past him so quickly that he couldn't get a good look. "How could this be? Caeli are usually stable after the death of a person."

He had never seen such a chaotic caelum before. Did this mean that the caelum was far too old, or maybe corrupted in some way? The chaos and confusion within him seemed to make his own consciousness befuddled.

"Let's go take a look at the order instead." The chaos within the caelum made it so that he could neither see nor hear the former owner of the caelum. After some time, he managed to detect the position of the order. Only then did he hear some semblance of stable sound. It sounded like the flapping of insect wings. Then the chaos cleared up all of a sudden.

"Huh?" He stopped in his tracks and watched as a figure formed in front of him. It was a giant around seven meters tall. He had a standard humanoid body that corresponded to most other humans, heptastar organs included. Given its size, its heptastar organs were about the size of Tianming's arms, to boot. However, the giant did something that greatly perturbed him near the head.

"Heavens!" It wasn't a human head, but the head of a green insect! Every part from the compound eyes, fine hairs, and mandibles were clearly depicted. "The head of a bee?"

It was a humanoid figure with a bee’s head! An instant later, the scenery changed. However, the sight of the bee-headed person had been deeply engraved within him. "What in the world is with that bee head? Was that what the skeleton looked like while it was alive? They looked like a normal set of human bones, though! Was that actually a bee’s head or just some kind of headgear?"

It didn't feel too likely for it to be mere headgear. Since the scenery was chaotic once more, he decided to head toward the location of the order.

"What a large bees' nest!" He identified the core of the caelum by looking for the green glow. The fact that there was a honeycomb there meant that the caelum's owner had been a cosmic cartographer when he was alive. However, this one was much larger than those of Lin Clan seniors in the seventh level of the Caeli Vault, and it even glowed green. Not to mention, the chrysalis within the honeycombs had matured enough to become actual larvae. They were alive and had almost fully transformed into bees.

"I think this is called the ordo...." The caeli of seniors in the seventh level were more mature than those in the sixth, but they were still in chrysalis form. Even though they were 'alive', so to speak, they were in a dormant state, unlike the critters here that were moving about and peeking out of the nest.

"They might be weird, but they're actually manifestations of cosmic laws!" It was mind boggling to see the embodiment of those laws curiously peeking around. "What the fuck?" He witnessed something even more ridiculous and thought he was imagining things. When he squinted, he noticed that the chrysalises that had been peering out had human bodies instead of bee bodies, complete with long, slender limbs! They were identical to the bee-headed person he saw just before!

The sea of order, cosmic laws, chrysalises, bee-headed people, and the green skeleton.... Thinking about them all together made for quite a harrowing notion. The common sense Tianming had acquired about the astral god phase had been completely shattered. Fortunately, the bee-headed people were merely part of the ordo. While they looked around from inside, their bodies were still suspended in a sticky green substance. Tianming, however, felt like he needed a lot of courage to be there as a simple caelum.

"Whatever. It's just order, anyway. Let's see if I can use it for cultivation!" If he could, there were a thousand caeli within these bones that he could go through, which would last him quite a while. He didn't overthink it and placed the black arm of his caelum on the green caelum. The bee-headed people within seemed to push back against the hexagonal scales on his arm, giving him a feeling like many insects were crawling all over him. While it was disgusting, he noticed that it was helping him feel the fundamental cosmic laws and helping with the growth of his divine wills.

"It's usable!" Being able to continue his cultivation despite fighting for the minor reges mundi ranking was a wonderful thing. No matter how odd it looked, this was still just an order within a caelum. Order was basically a manifestation of fundamental cosmic law, containing an endless complexity of fine details. Through contact with order, Tianming would be able to control energy even more precisely to explore the true source of the cosmos on his path to becoming an astral god.

"It works rather well, even better than caeli in the seventh level." That was already quite ridiculous. "Let's try the other caeli."

There were a thousand caeli in total. He swapped to the others and noticed that they were also chaotic inside and populated with ghastly bee-headed people. While the scenes of the caeli were messy, Tianming did occasionally see a quiet scene or two. One of them even completely stunned him. There were thousands of bee-headed people, all of them males. They marched past him, all of them carrying a single hundred-meter-long pillar with great effort. When he got a closer look, he found that it wasn't a pillar, but a human finger!

It looked clean and pristine and seemed to be a woman's pinky finger, yet a hundred meters was far too long. Though it was just a fleeting moment that didn't show up anymore, it still left him with heart palpitations.

"What an eerie place this is...." He didn't understand the secrets that he had witnessed. The only thing he had gained from this was the growth of his divine wills, but at least it was the exact thing he needed in his situation. Dongshen Yue had wanted to stop him because she thought he wouldn't be able to access any caeli, which would delay his cultivation. But now he had a large, portable stock of them!
