Chapter 30: The Realms of Martial Cultivation

The morning sun dispersed the darkness with a blow of fresh breeze. At the center of Feiyun, the kids were practicing Marching Boxing meticulously and adeptly at the training ground.

Their moves were more concise, vigorous, and powerful than before.

Lin Xun who supervised them alongside nodded slightly.

The way these kids practiced Marching Boxing was loose in both moves and spirits before, missing many important force techniques. If they kept cultivating in that way, they would go astray.

However, after being corrected by Lin Xun, they had begun to learn and master the secret magic of Marching Boxing.

Lin Xun had a malevolent suspicion that Lian Rufeng and the guardians must have not taught the kids responsibly, or else they would tell the mistakes and problems easily.

On the other side of the training ground, four kids were meditating with legs crossed, among which was Ying Liuer, son of Ying Hao.

They were all 7 or 8 years old, who were better in qualification. Now they could feel Qi and guide it into the body. Given enough time and more practices, they would step into the world of cultivation.

Lin Xun had devoted all to teaching and helping them. He passed on all he knew about Spirit-concentrating Manual to them and brought out the meat of the snow-spot leopard and one-horned lizard to refine their mortal body and replenish their spiritual energy.

All this was for the development of Feiyun Village in the future.

Lin Xun knew it clearly that if Lian Rufeng and his gang were killed later, there would be no guardians for Feiyun Village.

Besides, Lin Xun would not stay here forever, so having someone to substitute Lian Rufeng and the pervious guardians was necessary to protect the whole village.

Ying Liuer and other three kids were picked by Lin Xun under the circumstance.

Before leaving, Lin Xun would teach all he had mastered to them as much as possible. As for the future, they had to rely on themselves.

While supervising these kids, Lin Xun was also busy figuring out the mystiques of the Six-word Saberplay. Without using spiritual energy, he held the dark cyan dagger in his hand, waving it with the power of his muscle.

Shua***

A tiny willow leaf fell and was then split by the blade with a flash.

It was ordinary since almost all practitioners could do it. However, taking a closer look, you would find something special in that split willow leaf.

The cut was down along a curved vein, not straight.

In other words, not only did he cut it as swift as lightning, but also made the cut along the vein precisely.

Although the willow leaf was slender, he cut it fast like a flash of lightning only with the power of his wrist. If some superb practitioners saw it, they would not hesitate to praise him.

He was now at the level of Nuance for Six-word Saberplay.

Martial cultivation was divided into four realms named Initiation, Nuance, Accuracy and Mastery.

Took Marching Boxing as an example. At beginning, if one could put every move to good use, he was at the realm of Initiation.

Practice made perfect. When he perceived the quintessence of the moves, he reached Nuance.

If he could then exert the power of their quintessence, he was at the realm of Accuracy.

At the highest realm, Mastery, he would master all the mystiques of Marching Boxing and could exert the power to the full extent. At this realm, each move would be picked up at random and exerted smoothly and fiercely.

These were the four realms of general fighting manuals.

Now Lin Xun’s practice of Marching Boxing was reaching the realm of Accuracy, which was only one step behind Mastery.

It was normal since Marching Boxing was only a basic boxing that required little of practitioners. However, it would not be that easy if one wanted to practice it to the realm of Mastery.

It required the ability of perception.

After all, different practitioners would have various personalities. The spiritual energy they cultivated would be different, so would be the way they exerted Marching Boxing. Then if they intended to practice it to the realm of Mastery, they must seek out their unique style.

However, most practitioners would not spend too much time on a basic manual which was classified as a basic one since its power was limited.

Lin Xun practiced it hard because Marching Boxing was the only boxing he knew and mastered. Without choice, he had to make extra effort to cultivate it.

In his opinion, even a basic boxing, if he could practice it to the Mastery Realm, the power would be beyond imagination.

Metaphorically speaking, an advanced manual was like an iron sword; a basic manual, just a wooden one. Generally, the power of a wooden sword could not compare with that of an iron one, but it also depended on who used it. free(w)ebnov(e)l

A wooden sword could kill people in the hand of a master, while a sharp iron sword could do nothing in the hand of an ordinary.

To practice Marching Boxing to the realm of Mastery needed perception, which could not be achieved easily. So Lin Xun put most of his mind on the Six-word Saberplay recently.

It was really unique, which was much more powerful than he had imagined, so it was harder to understand and cultivate it.

Lin Xun had only practiced it to the level of Nuance with the experience of fighting against ruddy blood rats, or else he would never get into this realm.

Through it, Lin Xun realized that practicing by oneself was like working behind closed doors. Only tempered by actual combats could one comprehend the essence of a manual truly.

“I need to go to the deep mountains again someday, and it would be better if I could come across some fierce beasts to fight against.”

The thought came to Lin Xun.

Actual combats would not only polish one’s martial art skills, but also temper his perseverance and brevity, as well as increase his experience. A practitioner who never fought would never go further on the road of cultivation.

With seven days’ endeavors, the spiritual grains in Feiyun Village were all reaped. They were estimated to be 3000 kg or so, which were fewer than ever, though the villagers felt satisfied with the result since they knew it was fortunate to harvest so many spiritual grains after the plague of pests.

Lin Xun had contributed to the good harvest a lot by eliminating the pests, so every family shared out their spiritual grains with him, giving Lin Xun nearly 50 kg in total.

Usually, these spiritual grains would be sent to the Green-sun Tribe for trading living materials as goods. However, no one planned to do it anymore because of Lin Xun’s plan. Although they were not sure whether Lin Xun could do it successfully or not, Chief Shiao Tianren had made the decision and they intended to follow it.

Calm days went on unknowingly. One month had passed by since Lin Xun killed Lu Ting and Qian Qi.

Besides teaching the kids to practice Marching Boxing, Lin Xun spent the rest of his time cultivating.

With practices, Lin Xun’s cultivation of Viscera Opening, the third level of Martial Realm, had been vigorous and powerful, and his fighting ability was also doubled.

If he met Qian Qi now, he could kill him with just one move.

The effect of the Meditating Magic was also obvious. Lin Xun’s mind and soul were more concise and strong – he would illumine one star in the sea of his consciousness with only one more step.

Moreover, the powerful mind and soul brought great benefits to Lin Xun. He would not feel discomfort or tiredness in the slightest even only rested for three hours each day, which saved him a lot of time virtually.

What’s more, it made his understanding and perception of the Six-word Saberplay much easier. Lin Xun was delighted to find the changes, realizing the specialty of the Meditating Magic even more.

Besides refining cultivation and practicing martial skills, Lin Xun didn’t ignore spiritual tattoo cultivation. He spared certain time to practice the speed, strength, and skill of carving spiritual tattoos every day.

The only pity was a lack of a suitable inscribing pen after that dark grey inscribing pen disappeared with that old scroll, or else he could refine some spiritual inks with spiritual materials collected recently to carve some real spiritual tattoos.

If one could not inscribe real spiritual tattoos, his level would not be tested and recognized, and then he would never know the distance between him and a spiritual tattooist.

However, Lin Xun was not hurried. He knew the success of cultivation on spiritual tattoo could not be gained overnight; instead, it relied on accumulated practices, understandings and improvements day by day, without any shortcut.

Well, Lin Xun felt quite satisfied as his cultivation on martial arts, spiritual tattoos, his mind and soul were all improved positively.

However, as time passed, villagers at Feiyun were not light-hearted like Lin Xun because they knew Lian Rufeng and his gang would come back and appear in the village again one day.

This depressed all villagers. Although not that gloomy or miserable, the atmosphere was tensed.

Lin Xun could not help them since what should come would come eventually. What he should do now was to consider how to handle it properly.

After washing himself, with a bow made from white bones and a bag of arrows on his back, and the Sky Breacher on the waist, Lin Xun left home and went outside of the village directly in the morning.

The meat of the snow-spot leopard and one-horned lizard were eaten up this month, and it was not enough to satisfy Lin Xun’s stomach with the only supplement of spiritual grains.

In order to fill his stomach and prepare for the future cultivation, Lin Xun decided to go deep into the remote and thickly forested mountains again.

He went alone without other hunters like Zhou Zhong this time for safety. Last time, if Lin Xun was not alert, they would come across that unseen lava wolf, the outcome of which would be unbearable to contemplate.

However, Lin Xun didn’t know the lave wolf which he regarded as a terror threat had been killed by a mysterious girl.
