Ye Qian sat on his knees with his back facing towards the Corpse General.
Beside Ye Qian there lay Yuan Meng who seemed to be still unconscious, but one could defiantly see the change in her expression given the fact that tears were not falling from the corner of her eyes as she muttered Ye Qian's name.
Ye Qian's palm gently stroked Yuan Meng's cheeks while lightly caressing it.
"UMMHHMMM."
A delighted hum was released from Yuan Meng's throat as a gentle smile appeared on her thin yet parched lips.
Given the situation they were in just a while ago, Yuan Meng had subconsciously lost hope as she saw Ye Qian being continuously beaten by the Corpse General.
In fact, just the gentle voice entering her ears and the caressing touch on her cheeks had made Yuan Meng to be in relief and even get quite a lot of confidence.
Although she was not completely conscious right now, but that could not be said about her mind.
"Heh, you are going to die, but you still have quiet guts to say such words about this General."

But just as the left arm of the Corpse General was about to reach Ye Qian's neck something happened that not only left him but also Ye Qian who was not in the least bewildered by the threatening words of the Corpse General to be a little taken aback.
"BANGGGG!"
As if something heavy had smashed upon a huge wall of concrete, an explosive yet mind-shocking bang was heard throughout the area.
A few tens of meters away, a figure crashed on the road as he tried to lift himself up.
It felt as if all the bones of this figure's body were making various cracking sounds of bones being snapped.
"Who are you?"
An angry growl filled with complete despise and displeasure was released from the throat of the person as he stared at the car which stood at the place where he stood previously.
Meanwhile, Ye Qian who was still a bit dazed stared at the car which stood just a few inches away from him and stared at it.
"CLICK"
A clicking sound was heard followed by a leg extending out of the car door.
A feminine voice which seemed to be filled with bone-chilling hatred then entered both Ye Qian and the corpse General's ears.
Ye Qian who was still in a daze looked at the figure which had walked out of the car and seemed to have lost all of its front sides as if it had crashed a huge rock as his brows raised high.
"It's her!"
Although Ye Qian had not seen this person for more than a couple of times, he had quite a memory of her as the person had said something to Ye Qian which had been truly happening.

Meanwhile, a few kilometres away from the road where all of this was happening.
In one of the biggest scientific and genetic labs of the province which was also located in the premise of the Star City.
More than 20 people wearing white aprons and completely draped in clothes which looked as if they were very cautious and wary of something that might harm them, or may come out of the special pod along with them.
How could they now be wary?
This was one of the biggest Genetic Laboratory in the country.
And there were more than a hundred of new species of microorganisms which were produced into life in this specific place, under all those microscopic equipment.
Of which there were a few which would surely cause harm if those organisms were to find a way out of their specific pods which were made for them so that not even a single microscopic organism would be allowed to get away.
In fact, the precaution taken by all these people here were something that any normal person would think that it was just something that they were worried too much about, but that would definitely not be true if one were to ask the people who had been working here for all these years.
But right now all the attention of these 20 or so scientists was not on the other pods which housed quite a few harmful as well as some revolutionalizing microorganisms which might help humankind for a better turn in the future.
"What happened, you called me in such urgency?"
A middle-aged man in his mid 50's rushed into the lab as soon as he was cleaned by the various filters to remove all the outer microorganisms.
