Chapter 272 Big Spender!

"Welcome… What can I do for you?"

"Hello, I would like to pay for my current debt and hopefully buy something else as well."

"Understood, your total debt is 1,782,000 Favor for a Recognition multiplier Package, a Favor multiplier Package, and a Skill Boost Token."

"That's it, I would like to pay for it immediately." Dale said with a nod as he opened his Game Menu, checking a few things in the meantime

"Very well, it's done, your total balance is 19,786,996 Favor. Would you like some recommendations within that price range? Or maybe a recommendation based on your own ideas?" The Clerk asked with a small smile

"Maybe later, for now… I would like to buy a book."

"Is it the Memoire of Refengard's Conquest?" The Clerk asked as he maintained his small smile

"Correct…"

'But how did he…'

"This book has been recommended to you so it was kept within the priority cart, the total amount for the Book is 1,700,000 in case of direct purchase or 17,000 in case of prolonged one, which one would you like to choose?"

"Hum…"

'So I can still buy items like that... Well, that makes things simpler.'

Dale thought about it for a moment before he said:

"Do you have anything that can help me with Skill Growth? Permanent Growth."

"And what I mean by that is that it'll stay after Babylon closes."

"On that note as well, do you have anything related to the Soul? Books on the subject are my priority, but in case you don't have it, anything about Alma Conquerors would do as well."

"Noted, I'll procure any relevant items as per your wishes, give me a moment." The Clerk said with a bow as he turned to the side after putting Refengard's Book atop the counter

"..."

'Great, with this, hopefully, something decent will pop out, otherwise, I'll just buy Skill books, there isn't much else to buy.'

'Maybe I could give it a shot on those Mythic Item boxes, maybe even stack on consumables, but I have priorities here.'

'If there is any item that can help me, a HardCore player, raise my Skills faster without bad side effects, then yes I'll take it, although I'm not expecting anything to pop up.'

'But I am hoping for something related to the Alma Conquerors to make its appearance, I've been stuck for far too long, it's time to advance my Class.'

"For now… It won't hurt to look around a bit." Dale said as he moved to a shelf nearby

'Later on, I can check the game Forums to see if anyone compiled a list of the "Must get" Items within Babylon. From there I may get some inspiration.'[1]

As such, while the Clerk walked around with a small Tray Cart, grabbing things here and there, Dale inspected some of the nearby products, potions, and the like.

In fact, he got curious about it, would the shop have any permanent buffs for him to acquire? However, when he put some thought into it, the likelihood of that wasn't high.

Otherwise, why would they prevent players from getting XP and leveling up? Though that wasn't really a solid argument either...

Dale would ask the Clerk once he was back, that's for sure.

And within three minutes, he was back:

"Here you go customer, please, check them out." The Clerk said as he laid out several items on the counter

"These items are within your specifications and also your acquisition range."

"I've left out some of the lesser priced redundant choices, and also those too high above your range, but in case you wish to check them both, be sure to inform me of it."

"Phew… It's over, that was hard." Rodi said as he wiped the sweat from his forehead

He rested his sword on the ground as he breathed heavily, but he didn't seem injured at all, only ragged.

"My HP... Less than 4%... Hahahaa... That was close." He said out loud as he gulped dry

'Ever since I got into the top 100,000, I started to meet people that actually knew how to play games, but it wasn't until the top 30,000 that things started to get a bit heated.'

'But I persevered, and I got into the top 3000. However, everyone that I face knows what they're doing, to defeat them, I'll have to use more than just ability.'

'If it wasn't for my higher Level and Stats… Shit.'

'I've yet to meet a HardCore player though... If there is any in these high Ranks.'

'No... There is one, the Red Knight... But he's doing PvE missions. Maybe that's for the best.' Rodi thought as he exhaled out loud

'For now, my rank is… Good enough, and at this rate, getting into the top 1000 may not be a dream after all…'

'Sigh, it's all due to the lack of Classes and Skills within Resko.'

When the gap between the individual abilities of the players is small, it's their Skills, items, Stats, and Class that'll make the difference.

The same goes by for when that gap is large.

Even if Rodi grew strong fast within Resko and is developing quickly, it cannot compare to some of the popular starting areas yet.

Regardless, the conditions of Resko are only an excuse of his since they don't affect the top rankings anyway.

To these people who stand above all, whenever they start usually has little to do with their true power.

Hidden Quests, items, opportunities, maybe a farming Spot, whatever it is, they are either players of great ability, people that would still be able to climb that high regardless of where they started, or they're people of great luck.

Didn't Rodi have his own luck?

"In cany case, I got this far, I'm happy already." He said as he stretched a little

'No matter what, this is only the start, people can get strong Classes and Items, but that will only remain relevant for some time, they need to develop their strength over the levels if they wish to keep it up.'

'As long as I keep following my Questlines, opportunities for me to grow stronger will appear too.'

'I've accumulated quite a bit with my consecutive victories... Should I stop by the shop to get some things?'

'If I can't get Skills within Resko, then I'll get them now. Maybe even a Class change opportunity...'

Rodi had many ideas but he eventually breathed in and out, calming down.

'... Either way, I don't need to be the best in the world… It makes me wonder how the Leader is doing?'

'Should I check it out?' He thought as he opened a Video Stream

Right now, Rodi wasn't streaming, not because he didn't want to but because he didn't want to show all his cards in public.

It was an order from the Guild leader, after all, they were planning on joining the 8v8 and 16v16 Arena fights, that was where the Guilds were truly going to compete with one another.

Until then, he needed to grow as much as he could and prepare to then, this would be the opportunity for him to prove to them all how much he had grown and that their initial investments weren't misplaced.

There was no space for failure.

"... I'll raise my rank to over two thousand, once that's done I'll get in the shop." He said as he started to turn into light

Rodi was determined... Determined enough to do 110% of what he was usually capable of!

/Flash!/

...

/Back at the shop.../

"I'll buy everything, with the discount."

"That's a great choice sir, your total is 595,158.33, and your debt is now at 59,515,833 Favor, the decimal won't be accounted for."

"Is there anything else you would like to purchase before leaving the shop? Be reminded that once you do so you won't be able to buy more products until you pay off your current debt."

"Damn... That's almost three times what I got... But yes, there is." Dale said with a deep breath as he placed his hands on the counter

But before he could say what he wanted...

[DING]

[DING]

Notifications rang in his ears.

[1] What do you think Dale should get from an Event like this?

Or better put, what kind of items you think there would be in the shop?
