At its edge stood a man wearing dignified clothes. There were armies of demons and devils at its summit. Immortal below the clouds. Celestial in them. And sublimes and absolutes looking at the man from afar.

A burst of spiritual energy surged out of the man's body.

Elliot saw the true extent of the pervertedness of energy radiation.

In the blink of an eye, the armies of hellish creatures exploded into a scene of bloody carnage.

Humanoids and monsters at the magic emperor level manifested their empires. They swept down at him, but spiritual shockwaves came out of him, sweeping over them all and shattering them into pieces as if they were all nothing but jade vases that he had picked up and hurled down to the sky, smashing them into a hundred pieces.

The spiritual shockwaves continued onwards, charging towards race destroyers. With a single stretch of their hand, they released destructive shockwaves of their own, destroying the spiritual shockwaves.

As a result, Elliot, who was sure he shouldn't be here, saw the man furrow his brows in dissatisfaction.

What happened next was the man taking out his weapon and brandishing it towards the sky.

Ten thousand arcs of sword-like spiritual energy shot towards the race destroyers

They released their destructive energy, intending to destroy it.

But to their shock, which one can also count as the last one of their life, the sword arcs cut through their reddish gales of destructive energy–that they got by destroying planets and consuming their cores–and shooting towards them, striking them like torrential rain.

A piece of their turned to dust each time a sword arc hit them.

Eventually, all the race destroyers in the clouds died.

Then, the sword arcs split apart the clouds, dissipating them. As a result, the man saw floating high above was a golden gate with silver mist pooling all around it.

The man looked at the gate, sighed, and lowered his head to look at his foot.

Elliot looked at the gate too, and the first thought that came into his mind after seeing it was that it looked truly divine!

"I understand! Everything finally makes sense! I've solved the last piece of the puzzle!" Elliot's eyes brightened up. "The ancient spirit king wants the divines to accept him into their "heaven" with open hands. To make that happen, he wishes to make his entrance to that place in an overbearing manner. He wants to destroy the gateway to their territory, which would cause an everlasting portal to their territory to open up in space. In this way, he will also damage their sovereignty and proves himself worthy to stand shoulder to shoulder with them. But will he exceed or fail?"

Suddenly, the man then raised his head, turned around, and looked at Elliot.

Elliot was startled!

The ancient spirit king was fucking looking at him!

Wasn't this supposed to be merely a piece of memory?!

<br/>How could the man see him?!

"Y-you must know this; once my will radiate, I can crush the mortals, shatter the celestials, turn the immortals to dust, earn the respect of the sublimes and absolutes, and force my way into the heaven by blasting its gates to nihility whether the divines like it or not.

"However, I am not confident about defeating the divine guarding this gate."

"And the moment I doubted myself, I lost to him."

Even though the ancient spirit king could tell that he would not win against the divine guardian, he still charged towards the divine gateway, intending to smash it so that a path to the divine/exalted race's territory would forever remain open in the sky of the spirit/soul world. a.

Without killing him, the northern duke turned out, and the golden gate closed shut.

He didn't deal the finishing blow to the ancient spirit king.

Maybe he didn't feel the need to, as the ancient spirit king was already so much damaged that he had lost all his powers.

He had over-exhausted himself in the fight so much that he burned his vitality, turned his energy channels and spirit marks into ashes, and even damaged his brain, losing the true meaning of energy radiation!

The last Elliot saw was the white gentleman's reddish eyes glancing at him.

He felt that the old monster wanted to tell him that he could see him too!

Elliot connected the dots and realized that it must be after this fight that the ancient spirit king fell into a daze and committed suicide!

He who already stood at the summit of the universe and was more stronger if not as strong as a sublime emperor wasn't even to touch a single strand of hair of a divine being; it was a truth too hard for him to handle. Worst yet, the fight had left him thoroughly crippled and with little vitality.

As he didn't want to let death catch him or live the life he had gotten because of the northern duke's pity, he decided to end his own life!

What a hero!

What a magnificent tale!

The illusory world collapsed.

Elliot returned back to the twilight forest!
