"Just what kind of terrifying disaster was it? Did it hurt you, too?"

John has been living in this place for seven years, and never once had he seen this place vacant of the cocky gambling shops' owners.

"You are looking at it."

Elliot's words caught John off guard.

"Huh? What do you mean?

John blinked his eyes innocently, a baffled expression on his face.

"It's me," Elliot said after pointing at himself.

"Oh, I can see that happening."

A voice came from behind them. John and Elliot turned towards the source of the familiar voice and found out that Theo had finished the trial and teleported in the food stall next to them. He was eating braised pork and noodles, a drink that only adults can take was beside the noodle cup. Elliot realized that it was alcohol, but he didn't have any interest in it.

"Is it good?"

"Even though it's my first time having it, I can confidently say that it's good."

"Thanks for the praise, dear customer."

"I guess I got to try it too."

Hearing it getting praised by Theo wasn't the reason why Elliot entered the shop. Instead, it was the mouth-watering smell coming out of the shop that controlled his mind and stomach and pulled him towards it.

"Anyway, just what did you do?" John also came in uninvited, and the first thing he said after entering the stall was to ask the thing he was the most interested about right now.

Without saying a word, Elliot pulled out the two-hundred items and placed them on the vast table that separated the dining area from the open kitchen.

"Got all that," Elliot said while pointing at the mountain of artifacts. All of them were in perfect condition. Under the yellow lights of the stall, whose interior was ten times bigger than what it looked like on the outside, the items shimmered beautifully; their radiance blinded the two dogs that had never seen so much in their entire life.

"Wtf? Did you earn all that today?"

John's mouth opened so wide that Elliot managed to notice his sharp fangs. With his jaw threatening to drop to touch the ground, John looked extremely ridiculous.

"Yes, I did." Elliot said, "and it was quite easy too."

John and Theo ate vinegar after hearing his words. It was hard for them to even win an item in a month. They had to challenge the trials again and again until getting the hang of it and conquered it. Only a few times did they get lucky enough to win an item in a single try. But Elliot so easily won so much. Why wouldn't they be jealous of him?!

"Just what did you do?"

"The thing I am the best at," Elliot said; his wide smile gave Theo a hint.

"Gambling?" Theo guessed.

Elliot replied, "You know me best."

"How many games does one have to win to win so much?!" John asked.

"Around 200," Theo said after a moment of careful thinking.

"You played that much?"

"200 times and 200 wins." Elliot said, "It was pretty chill."

John's eyes widened like saucers!

A gambling god was sitting right next to him; why wouldn't he be surprised!

The only thing Elliot was missing in this place was an audience that would appreciate his talent.

If someone had seen what he did, they would have clapped for 10 minutes and eleven seconds!

"Why and how is your luck always so good?" John failed to make the head and tail of the situation. Back in the academy, he won hundreds of bets in the virtual reality game, the gladiator arena. But that wasn't as impressive as winning 200 artifacts in a single day!

"Hah, if such a phenomenon could be attributed to luck only, then I wouldn't mind considering suicide." Theo was confident that Elliot had some kind of unique ability that let him peak into countless possible futures, that he had chosen to perform the same action as his future self that had won the gamble in one of the many possible timelines.

Did that make any sense?

Barely!

Just like how him winning 200 artifacts in a day barely made any sense to him.

"Why are you rubbing against me?"

Suddenly, John started rubbing his head against Elliot's right arm.

"Rubbing off some luck."

"Scram!"

Elliot pushed the pervert, who was trying to take advantage of him and cop a feel of his evolved body, away from him.

"Congratulations to you too!" Elliot sat beside Theo, pointed at the broken and old pole resting on the wall of the shop, and continued, "With that, you can probably become invincible."

"Only if I can find high-quality materials and use them to help it recover to its peak condition." Theo sighed.

He knew that it would be hard to fix the cracks and chipped parts of the pole!

"Gathering the material needed to fix it is indeed going to be rather messy," Elliot lamented.

"You already know?"

Theo had read many records in the last seven years, and that's why he knew that the pole was made of materials foreign to the soul race, human race, and all the other races on Xavier and Earth.

"I guessed that we might need to visit different planets or the ancient settlements of various races to fix it."

As Theo didn't decline Elliot's statement, John immediately realized that this run-down pole was potentially a horrifying treasure, one way better than his own. Finally, interested in what Theo managed to win thanks to the guidance of Elliot, the wise sage, John asked them about it. Theo let Elliot give him an answer as he knew the most about it. Just like the demon king's requiem, the demon king's banner was also a peak-grade treasure. After killing ten thousand evil beings and letting it swallow their souls, Theo would be able to activate its special ability, elemental control field.. A unique force field would get generated in a 5km area with him as the center. In this field, he would be able to control all of the seven elements!
