?It was decided that I would sign the Mana Contract later on, once the Principal talked to the rest of the [Council] members. With my biggest concerns being handled, all I had to do was to wait for the Academy to start.
While coming back from the random alley the Principal just rudely dropped me in after we finished our business, I checked off pretty much everything from my to-do list. Now all I had to do was sit back and relax while waiting for the Academy to start.
Walking into a cafe, I planned out several ways to manipulate *cough* I mean to guide the "main cast" to become my allies or friends without revealing my true abilities. I wanted to lay low but that didn't mean that I'd cross out all kinds of contact with those main characters, not to mention three of them lived in the same dorm as me so sooner or later I would have to meet them all anyways.
The moment I entered the cafe, I saw several people just walk out in an awkward stance. The atmosphere in the cafe was oddly cold and it seemed way too quiet for what should have been a place where the youth gathered.
Almost all of the people could be seen giving subtle glances in a particular direction. Looking over, I found a woman with Emerald-green hair, and eyes the color of the sky. The Elven Princess and one of the main cast with the blessing of [Yggdrasil], her status made it so that no ordinary guy would prefer to offend her.
Nobody would want to anger the royal family of the elves, Feyheart, and have the whole Elven kingdom on their tail. That would simply be suicide! She had an absolutely stunning appearance with an upright cold and arrogant demeanor.
She seemed to emit an aura that would keep everyone far away from her. Though, the truth couldn't be any further from it as she was someone who was quite friendly in nature but bound by status.
I took a seat away from her as I wasn't planning to approach her just yet. If I tried to get closer to her now, she might assume that I simply wanted to make use of her status.
Finding a random seat, I proceeded to mind my own business. That was until I spotted Anthony enter the same cafe. I casually waved at him to make him notice me. Notice me he did as he made his way towards me.
On the way to getting near my seat, he noticed the peculiar atmosphere as his gaze turned towards Lucia. Suddenly, his eyes went wide as it seemed he fell into a trance.
*Sigh* 'Lucia is really beautiful so I guess he was astonished to see her though, it was really weird considering he should have seen her before his regression itself.'
I might have acted the same way if not for Asher's memories which made me a cold person though I can confidently say that even back on Earth, I was never a simp.
Suddenly, his whole body jerked as he deviated from his path, taking long strides towards her.
'What is he doing?'
He came in front of Lucia and just as I was about to call out to him, he leaned his body forward and hugged her.
The atmosphere in the cafe dropped down by several hundred degrees and everybody in the cafe went slackjawed including me.
'I never thought he was that h*rny, WHAT HAS HE EVEN DONE!!?'
Elves and Dragons were one of the races closest to "nature" or rather, the world itself. Dragons only had monstrous affinities for the basic elements at the cost of not having any affinity that's not included in the 5 basic elements.
On the other hand, elves were stronger the more their affinities were related and attuned to nature. One thing that both these races had in common was that each of them were born with a [True name].
This was a one-word name in the [Origin] language, the most ancient one in all of existence that could be comprehended by anyone regardless of their race or what languages they spoke.
A true name was something that these races only ever told their lovers about. Telling these [True Names] to someone was the most intimate act that could be performed.
If used in the wrong hands, there were several methods out there with which you could enslave the other person if you knew their [True Name]. Humans and other races developed their [True Name] only when they reached the [SSS-] rank.
Now, I could care less about Anthony acting on his feelings of youth, which he wasn't really one. No, the problem here was that Lucia Feyheart, in the original novel was one of the members of Alex's harem.
Alex had fallen for her at the first sight. Quite later on, they developed mutual feelings and Lucia told Alex her [True Name], Calypso. Alex had met Lucia before the entrance examinations and had been simping for her ever since.
My instincts went blaring as I had a weird premonition that something fun was about to happen. Glancing at the door to the cafe, I spotted Alex enter and freeze at the sight of Anthony and Lucia hugging each other.
'Hehehe this is getting interesting, I might get to watch a good show', I chuckled inwardly while sipping my coffee.
I could care less about keeping the plot intact as I knew it was impossible to do so. Moreover, it had already changed and deviated from the original.
Anyways its not like if something goes wrong then the whole world would be destroyed.. '
'Well, rather there's a chance that it might be but I knew of several ways to leave this world and travel to others so even if it got destroyed, I'd still be safe.'
Besides, as long as I got strong enough, I could simply protect the world myself. Though to protect the world, I'd have to be at least at the [SS+] rank, at which I could start to destroy the "Destiny", which bound me to remain as an extra.
It was as if sparks could be seen going off from Alex as he stared cold daggers at Anthony who gazed back at Alex with a confused look. The atmosphere was plunged into an even colder abyss.
