Luo Feng hoped that their shared origins might ease the tension. But before he could express his goodwill, he was met with hostility.
“Don’t think that just because you see someone who looks like you in Chinatown, you can get familiar with them,” the man sneered. “And don’t get me wrong. While I might look like you, I’m an American now. We’re worlds apart.”
Luo Feng was taken aback, struggling to understand the man’s overconfidence.
