Growing up in the UK, Leo had missed out on several things that happened within the Scarlet family, for better or worse. The information he got was either a whisper over the phone from family members or his few contacts. He knew enough of the mundane stuff. Important but always what he wanted to hear about.

When it came to serious matters, there was hardly any time to make calls or update him. It was never unintentional. A simple curse of time differences and distance. Nothing more, nothing less. Dino Lawson had been one of those severe matters he'd been left in the dark about. He'd only known the man by name and the brief times Lena mentioned. Whatever happened to Dino, he never knew. So why not now take up the opportunity to resolve that?

Not to mention, Leo had thoughts of his own on the matter. Even if he was physically unable to see anything, that didn't mean he couldn't know the feel tension in the room. The tension did not feel rightly placed for Lena to deal with. Thus, he would take it upon himself to redirect it to where it did belong.

"Lena, I think this would be the place for someone else, don't you? Although I never met him, if I remember correctly, Lawson was more of a family thing. A family matter he wanted to know more about; Leo couldn't see how mentioning this brought strange fire into Lena's eyes. Wasn't it?"

"It wasn't just a family issue that took place. Gabrielle was close but not enough to be pulled into personal family matters. Zane wouldn't have let that happen for a variety of reasons. Gabrielle wouldn't have been involved if it was simply a family matter."

"Are you trying to say that I shouldn't be the person to deal with this? When I think I can find something entertaining to do, someone wants to take it away from me." Gabrielle scuffed her shoes against the floor in a rather rough manner. The squeal against the marble caused everyone else in the room to flinch.

"Not quite. There are just different rules to going about this if it is solely a family matter. Such as the whole Scarlet family would have to be involved." The whole family? That was right. A crooked smirk spread across Lena's lips. Her younger brother might have a perfect point in his comments for once. The princess didn't have to take her eyes off her more youthful sibling to notice the uncomfortable shift of her pinned captive. Aw, did someone not like that idea?

"It isn't a family matter in that general sense. However, that does not mean we can't ensure that some of those same rules apply to this situation." The princess would have to figure out how to make that work. They were a few people short. What with her father still being out and much of the family tending to other matters? That thought raised another issue.

Lena had opted for her uncle to be in charge. Not herself. A potential problem that could take the wind out of her sails. They would have to have a conversation about it, in which Julian would have to agree with her side of the matter.

"if this is going to turn into that type of thing, how long will I have to wait to have fun? I do have other matters that I am tasked to take care of. Also, will there be another reward if I am not able to do this on my terms?" The impatient Italian woman eyed Dino like a dog waiting to sink their teeth into a fun new toy. For once, couldn't she handle matters the way she wanted? Family matter or not, she should have been able to get the first say.

After all, Dino had pushed her the farthest first. Everything that took place after that made it a Red Scorpion family matter. Dumbass mafioso didn't know what he'd been getting into my pushing his luck so far. Some people honestly didn't know how to enjoy the good things when they came.

Dino eyed the other occupants of the room. He'd felt as though he deserved his say in the matter. Last words, perhaps? Except, the climate of the room and the arm roughly against his throat answered his unspoken question. Everyone, including the charming younger Scarlet sibling, meant business. Even if the other didn't show it, Dino could feel it from Leo. He was calm and collected but oh so much like his older sibling. He allowed his eyes to analyze the younger Scarlet when he took the silence as an opportunity to speak again.

"Lena will make sure that you get your chance at fun if it is possible. Before that, I would also like to catch up on a piece I missed hearing about." No point in letting the perfect opportunity pass. Leo needed something else to keep him occupied if his family couldn't be around until he could see them again.

"I want you to wait for the time being. My uncle is still around, so this is a matter that I can take up with him relatively quickly. In the meantime, however, something needs to be done with him. I don't want him standing around here able to do what we want in the meantime." Jovani was out of the option to ask for help. Instead, the princess would have to rely on someone closer to home to assist.

"Gabrielle, I think that Hester would be able to help with this." Lena's eyes trailed back to Dino, who chose to continue his docile farce. Lena knew better than to give the other a second to breathe. When anyone took their eyes off Dino, he'd vanish into thin air. He might've seemed harmless enough, but it was far from the truth. The mafioso was more dangerous than a rattlesnake in the grass.

Lena wanted to know why a rattlesnake who'd barely missed losing his head would come back of its own volition.

What did Dino Lawson want now?
