Chapter 96: A Heavy Heart
Li Ran took off her coat and wrapped it around the woman’s body. Zhao Ying also did the same but since she did not have a coat, she took Gu Jin’s instead.
The woman did not move a muscle. She merely closed her eyes.
It was clear that she had suffered heavy psychological trauma. Her hatred for men was deep.
Yang Shao looked around the basement.
There were several corpses of zombies. Wang Mian had used them as specimens. One of them was still lying on the bed. The autopsy was only half done and the chest of the corpse was still wide open. It emitted a foul odor. There was also the stench of blood. Basically, although the basement was clean and tidy, it had a putrid smell. There was no doubt that the man had an obsessive-compulsive disorder.
There were two beds in the middle. One for zombies and the other for women. Additionally, there was a big table. Many bottles and jars were placed on the table. No one dared to touch them.
Moreover, there were glass display cases. Inside each glass case was a woman. Some of them had been tortured to a point of deformation. Their limbs were broken and facial features had been flattened. It was hard to describe their disfigurement with words.
Judging by the wounds and scars, it was obvious that they had not been mutilated at the same time. As for how long they had been tormented, no one knew the answer. In total, five women were tortured to death.
Wang Gang looked at the corpse with disdain and cursed, “He deserved to die! What a disgusting man!”
Gu Zhao’s eyes were covered by Zhao Ying. However, he managed to get a peep.
Even an adult would be easily petrified by the sight, but the little boy was not scared at all. Instead, he comforted Wang Gang, “Big brother, when a bad person dies, they will go to hell. It’s okay. Hell will punish him.”
“Zhao Zhao, be a good boy and stop talking, okay?”
Zhao Ying continued to cover Gu Zhao’s eyes. She was already trembling. Such a scene was unimaginable.
‘How could a person be so monstrous?
‘It’s infuriating!’
Gu Jin noticed that Zhao Ying was unstable. He put his arm around her shoulder and said, “Why don’t we sleep in the car for the night? Let’s get out of here first.”
Li Ran agreed. She spoke to the woman in a very gentle tone, “Where are your clothes? I’ll get them for you.”
The woman opened her eyes and looked at her. She replied in a low voice, “Thank you. They’re in that wardrobe.”
Li Ran nodded and walked towards the wardrobe. She found some white shirts and black suit pants inside. There were at least three or four sets of them and they were all the same.
Other than what she had found, there were no other clothes. Li Ran took a shirt out and examined it. Based on the size, it was obviously a man’s shirt, but there was no other option.
The woman was still lying on the floor.
Meanwhile, Wang Gang and Yang Shao checked the entire room. Their faces were full of anger. Once they were done, they silently sat on the ground.
“Why don’t you guys leave for a while? Let her put on her clothes,” said Li Ran
“Alright. Just shout if you need anything. The two of us will be somewhere nearby.”
After saying that, Yang Shao immediately stood up and left. Wang Gang followed closely behind.
“Will do,” Li Ran replied.
The woman looked at her and said weakly, “Sorry to trouble you.”
“Don’t worry about it. You’re safe now. We’ll help you.”
She gave the clothes to the woman so she could dress up herself.
Then, she turned around and gave her some privacy.
