Chapter 139: Learn More

Li Ran looked around, but she could not find the medical supplies that she had bought from the mysterious space.

It made her feel extremely frustrated!

She tried checking again, but they were really nowhere to be found.

In the end, she realized that the medical supplies were one-use only. If she wanted more, she would need to buy them from the system’s mall again.

“Why don’t we move all these things to your room? Would you like to distribute them by yourself? Otherwise, they’ll be confiscated,” said Fang Lin.

Li Ran immediately replied, “There’s no way I’ll let them be confiscated. I don’t want to eat tasteless steamed buns and preserved vegetables every day!”

Fang Lin smiled and explained, “Hahaha, all the supplies would be shared with everybody. There’s nothing we can do about it. People here are all treated equally. This is the only way those without special abilities can feel secured and comfortable. Fairness and justice are very important.”

Li Ran understood what he meant, but they went through a lot of trouble obtaining these supplies.

“Then, it’s not hard to understand the incident[1] that had happened today. Some people risked their lives to go out and scavenge for supplies, but they are treated no differently than those who stayed inside and did nothing. It’s easy to create friction and conflicts, isn’t it?”

Fang Lin also understood Li Ran’s perspective.

Anyway, he just called over a few people using his walkie-talkie. Then, they began moving and organizing the supplies.

“There’s definitely a difference between people with and without special abilities. Those with special abilities would receive a lot of gold coins when they completed difficult missions. The gold coins can be used to buy a lot of rare items,” Fang Lin explained.

“Meanwhile, those without special abilities get to work in the base, but they’ll only receive very little gold coins. Just think of it like hierarchy in a business company.”

“…”

‘I guess it’s relatively reasonable.’

“Then, can I accept and complete missions as well? I want to get some gold coins too.”

Fang Lin burst into laughter.

“Just look for your husband. It’s only right for him to earn the gold coins and for you to spend them. Why do you have to be the one taking the risks? Besides, I’m sure that brother Nan won’t let you go out so easily.”

Li Ran obviously had to keep her intentions of going out from Lin Nan. If he began restricting her, it would be a huge loss.

She smiled and changed the topic.

“Are these people your men?”

“Yes. So, how do you want to divide these supplies?”

Fang Lin looked at supplies. There was quite a lot of stuff.

Li Ran had a change of mind.

“Why don’t we store them in the storage room? That way, we can have access to the supplies whenever we need them.”

“Sounds good. I’ll give you a copy of the keys, okay?”

Li Ran nodded.

This was the best-case scenario.

If she stored the supplies in her room, she would definitely get into some sort of trouble.

Worst of all, if that happened, Wang Gang, Gu Jin, and the rest would also be dragged into the mess.

Before Fang Lin could leave, Li Ran asked, “Can you give me a permit? It’ll save me a lot of inconveniences.”

Fang Lin rummaged through his pocket and took out a card.

The card was sealed and had a stamp on it.

“Here you go. If you lose it, just come and ask me for another one. I have to get going now.”

Fang Lin then left with his men who were carrying the supplies.

As for Li Ran, she headed towards the service area.

There was a long line of people. Their faces were filled with worry or anger.

She quickly left the place.

Then, she came across the shop where one could spend their hard-earned gold coins. There was also a queue here, but people’s faces were filled with excitement and anticipation instead.

However, what Li Ran wanted to check out was something else. She looked into the distance.
