168 Wish Upon a Star

[: Daniel POV :]

At that moment, my body froze, and my heart raced with a tumult of emotions.

Cecilia's mention of 'Memoir of Stars' was not something to be taken lightly.

It was a place that only appeared in the aftermath of the Apocalypse, a place filled with profound meaning for me.

It was there that I had first met her, and it was a cherished location where we had spent countless hours together.

The allure of Memoir of Stars lay in its nighttime scenery, where the stars overhead sparkled brightly, and the mana-infused clouds displayed an array of vibrant colours.

Its beauty had captivated her, making it a place close to her heart.

But the question remained, how had she managed to recall or dreamt a place that existed only in the future?

As her words hung in the air, I couldn't help but suspect that she might have gained bits of memories from the future.

The idea felt both tantalizing and unsettling.

Could it be possible?

Would she truly acquire future memories?

These questions weighed on my mind.

"Memoir of Stars? I've never heard of such a place,"

I quickly shook my head in an attempt to evade the topic.

However, her earnest expression made it clear that she was serious about her dreams.

"I also have never heard of it,"

She conceded, but there was a deeper curiosity in her eyes.

"But, I can't help but be bothered by it,"

She continued, her restlessness apparent.

I probed further, asking her why it bothered her.

"The dreams I've had...there's something about it that feels familiar yet...it's so different,"

She tried to explain her complex emotions in a way that I might comprehend.

I understood the odd sensation she described, a feeling of familiarity and foreignness intertwined.

It was a restlessness born of wanting to uncover the truth.

Cecilia's frustration finally got the better of her as she gave up on trying to recollect the exact details of her dreams.

I couldn't help but chuckle softly at her exasperation.

"But still, the place, Memoir of Stars was beautiful,"

She mused, gazing towards the sky as though attempting to visualize the ethereal dream.

"It was full of stars and wonders of colours, and somehow, we were sitting on the grass as we both stared at the night."

Her expression brimmed with longing as if she yearned to experience the dreams she had described.

"It just felt so real to me," she remarked.

"Well, whether it's a dream or not, it doesn't change the fact that I will be by your side,"

I declared, my words laced with truth.

I couldn't control the effects of these dreams or memories, but I wanted her to understand that, regardless of what happened, my love for her remained the same.

If Cecilia continued to dream about our future, there would come a point where she might begin questioning herself.

I couldn't prevent her from remembering, but I wanted her to know that, whether she regained her memories or not, my love for her would persist.

"Daniel..."

She looked at me with a loving gaze, her cheeks tinged with a blush.

"You and your sweet words,"

She teased, her laughter filling the air.

"Well, it goes the same for me, dear,"

She declared, leaning against me.

"No matter what the future holds, I will always be by your side."

We fell into a comfortable silence, our eyes fixed on the horizon as the sun descended, turning the sky tonight, with stars glittering above us.

The enduring love between us needed no more words, and we cherished the peaceful moments of togetherness.

As the night fell, a celestial blanket of stars began to illuminate the darkening sky, casting their soft, twinkling light upon us.

The tranquil ambience was infused with a sense of magic, and I couldn't resist reaching for Cecilia's hand, our fingers interlocking as we leaned against each other.

"Look at the stars, Cecilia,"

I whispered, my voice hushed in reverence for the beauty above us.

"Each one of them is like a tiny piece of our love, shining brightly in the vast expanse of the universe."

Cecilia's eyes were fixed on the shimmering night sky, and she smiled, her gaze full of tenderness.

"And each one of them reminds me of the countless moments we've shared, like the twinkling lights of our memories."

We fell into a serene silence, our connection transcending words as we both contemplated the wonders of the cosmos.

But soon, Cecilia's voice broke the silence, soft and full of emotion.

"Daniel, do you remember the first time we kissed together?" she asked.

I nodded, a fond smile playing on my lips.

"Of course, I do. It was on that night with the moon above us as we sealed our lips, our dreams, our wishes, and our love beneath the same starry sky"

"And it was the night I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you."

Cecilia's eyes glistened with affection, and she murmured, "That was the night I fell in love with you, Daniel"

"The stars have always been witnesses to our love story."

With our hearts intertwined and the stars above us, we continued to watch the night unfold.

We were loss in the sweet moments that made our love story even more special, like a 'constellation' of precious memories lighting up our lives.

As the night deepened, and the stars above continued to cast their soft, mesmerizing glow,

I couldn't help but turn my gaze toward Cecilia.

The gentle radiance of the night sky seemed to enhance the beauty of her presence.

"You know," I began, my voice a gentle whisper, "each star in the sky pales in comparison to your radiance, Cecilia."

Cecilia blushed and playfully nudged my shoulder.

"Oh, Daniel, you always know how to make me blush"

"But it's the same for me"

"Every moment I spend with you feels like a star in my own personal constellation."

We shared a moment of silent connection, our fingers still entwined, as we revelled in the magic of the night.

The sweet scent of roses from the nearby garden wafted through the air, adding to the enchantment of the evening.

Cecilia's eyes sparkled with wonder as she pointed to a particularly bright star.

"Do you think that star is making a wish right now?"

I smiled and joined in her playful spirit.

"Maybe it is"

"And you know what, I think it's making the same wish we are, that our love shines as brightly and eternally as the stars in the night sky."

Cecilia's laughter filled the air, a melodic symphony that echoed the joy of the moment.

"Daniel, I feel so lucky to have you in my life" She was full of smiles as she onto my eyes.

"It goes the same for me" I replied, but I couldn't finish the sentence.

She wouldn't know how lucky I was to have her in my life.

If she had never appeared in my life and gave the support that I needed, I don't think I could have survived for so long and made it back here.

She might not realized about the amount of her presence means to me.

Even so, I wish for her to spend her time without worrying about the future.

Our hearts entwined, we sat under the canopy of stars, sharing sweet moments and promising each other an everlasting love that would rival even the brightest star in the night sky.

Under the canopy of stars, as the night grew deeper and our connection stronger, Cecilia turned her gaze toward me, her eyes filled with curiosity and a touch of mischief.

"Dear, if there's a wish that you can make," she began, "what would it be?"

I met her gaze, my heart brimming with emotions.

"I hope that one day, we can live happily, and that's my only wish,"

I confessed, my voice soft and filled with sincerity.

Cecilia couldn't help but smile at my words.

"But, aren't we living happily?" she questioned.

I gazed into her eyes, my smile mirroring hers. "Yeah, you're right,"

I responded, knowing the happiness we were sharing at this very moment. "We are living happily."

A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the nearby rose bushes, adding to the romantic ambience of the night.

I turned the question back to her, my voice tinged with curiosity.

"Then, what's your wish?"

Cecilia leaned in closer, her gaze filled with a hint of playfulness in her expression.

"That's a secret," she teased, her voice a soft whisper in the quiet of the night.

I chuckled and pulled her even closer, the warmth of her presence a comfort in the stillness of the night.

"A secret, huh?"

I mused, my fingers tracing gentle patterns on her hand.

"Well, I'll be patient and wait for the day you decide to share it with me."

Cecilia's smile widened, and she nestled her head against my shoulder.

"It's a special wish, Daniel. And one day, I promise, it will come true."

As we continued to stargaze under the twinkling heavens, our hearts intertwined, we cherished these sweet moments, knowing that our love held a universe of secrets and dreams yet to be uncovered.
