Chapter 113 Chain Quest

[: Daniel POV :]

Upon hearing my answers, the men's demeanour took a sinister turn as they began mocking me.

"Huh!? Who are you!? Are you one of her lackeys?" one of them sneered.

"Come on, man, don't waste your time helping her. How about you join us, and we'll allow you to have some fun with her?" another jeered, his tone laced with cruelty.

Their laughter echoed through the desolate alley as they made callous jokes, treating an innocent girl's life as nothing more than a plaything.

Such heartlessness was a grim reminder of the darkness that had taken root in this post-apocalyptic world.

Their complete disregard for Bella's safety and their sinister intentions solidified my resolve to help her.

In a world already plagued by chaos, their behaviour was a stark reminder of the darkness that had taken hold.

Ignoring their comments, I stepped forward.

"I don't care who you are or what you want. I won't stand by and let you harm her," I declared firmly, my words carrying an underlying promise of action.

Bella, though still fearful, looked up at me with a glimmer of hope in her eyes, grateful for the unexpected ally who had appeared in her darkest hour.

The men continued their jeering, their laughter echoing through the desolate alley.

"Oh, look at this hero wannabe! Thinks he's gonna save the day, huh?"

"Yeah, kid, you're in way over your head. We could snap you like a twig."

"Sigh, suit yourself," I muttered, my resolve hardening.

There was no room for sympathy; I had a quest to complete, and they stood in my way.

"W-What are you doing?!" one of the men stammered in terror.

I invoked the power of the Ruler's Authority, manipulating the very essence of their blood.

Their bodies heated up rapidly, their veins pulsing with uncontrollable intensity, until with a sickening burst, they exploded into a gruesome puddle of blood and gore.

As the men met their gruesome end, their horrified expressions were etched into their final moments.

Desperation to convey the message of my power to their master was evident in their wide, terror-stricken eyes.

But their pleas went unheard, and they perished in silence.

No one beyond Bella had witnessed my incredible strength, and instead of terror, she felt an odd sense of fascination.

Her gaze remained fixed on my nonchalant expression, and she couldn't help but think that this was what true strength looked like.

With such power at our disposal, fear was a foreign concept.

As I surveyed the gruesome aftermath of the exploding men, I couldn't help but notice the longing in Bella's eyes.

She wished she could possess such powers, for then she wouldn't have to feel so utterly helpless.

With a wave of my hand, I gathered the essence of the spilt blood and swiftly evaporated it using my ethereal flames.

Bella watched in awe, her curiosity piqued. She wondered just how many powers I held and how high my level was.

I couldn't help but notice the spark of hope in her eyes.

She seemed to be placing her faith in me, perhaps hoping that I could be her saviour in the impending crisis that loomed over the Human Continent.

"Are you okay?" I asked genuine concern in my voice.

Without waiting for her response, I activated my Ethereal Flames, using them to heal her wounds.

Her surprise was evident as she witnessed yet another of my abilities in action.

With each display of power, her belief in me seemed to grow stronger.

"Thank you..." Elsa murmured, her voice filled with gratitude and my politeness seemed to have piqued her interest.

Despite her surprise, she didn't forget the reward and its original purpose.

"As a reward for helping, I, Princess Bella Hugh, will give this treasure to whoever saved me," she declared, presenting a Silvery White Core in her palms.

As I accepted it, I could feel the immense potential radiating from the core.

It was no exaggeration to say that the Divine Dividing Core was one of the most powerful relics in existence.

It had once been in the possession of one of the Apocalypse Knights, and its sheer power had played a crucial role in humanity's continued survival.

"I thank you Princess Bella for rewarding me with such a precious core''

I thanked her with gratitude evident in my words.

I wanted to show my appreciation for her kind gesture.

"If you have any requests, Princess, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd be honoured to offer my aid," I offered sincerely.

Despite my gratitude for the Silvery White Core, I couldn't help but be even more intrigued by the potential rewards that completing this chain quest might bring.

It was clear that the real treasures lay at the end of this quest, and I couldn't wait to see what they might be.

I couldn't help but be consumed by curiosity about the nature of this quest and the treasures it might yield.

It struck me as particularly intriguing that no one had managed to discover what lay at the end of this quest.

Each Ex quest could only be activated once, and the consequences of failure were significant.

In the ever-unfolding world of Modern Fantasia, events moved forward without pause, and there was no room for another saviour or player to pick up where the previous one left off.

This wasn't like a typical video game with reset options; in this world, failure meant much more than just losing a game.

It meant failing to save lives and potentially disrupting the chain or balance of the entire world.

The stakes were undeniably high, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was on the verge of something extraordinary.

The mystery surrounding the quest and its potential rewards gnawed at me.

What could be so challenging that even a player as powerful as the original one had failed to complete it? It was a puzzle I was eager to unravel.

[: Crisis for War(EX): Second Chain Quest: Travel together with Princess Bella in returning to her home safely :]

"Yes I do and I wish for you to help me in returning to the Main District and aid me in solving my father's deteriorating health"

Her request, however, brought me back to the immediate task at hand

"Of course, that'll be an instant," I assured her with a confident smile.

Without hesitation, I lifted her gently into my arms and?I felt a subtle warmth emanating from her body.

Her eyes met mine, a hint of surprise giving way to a sense of security as she settled into the embrace.

Her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue, and her gaze became entranced, fixated on my eyes.

As we moved forward together, her scent gently wafted through the air, captivating my senses.

It was a fragrance I couldn't quite place, unique and alluring.

Her heart raced against her chest, and I couldn't help but wonder if this particular moment had ignited such a connection.

"Hold on tightly, princess," I cautioned her, focusing on the task at hand as we soared through the skies.

''Mm'' She nodded her head adorably and her expression was quite cute to look at.

As I carried Bella through the skies, I could feel the firmness of her grip around me, her hands holding on tightly.

Her gaze, previously filled with curiosity and admiration, seemed to change into something more delicate, something akin to affection.

For Bella, this experience was entirely new and unfamiliar.

Her father, the king, had been overprotective of her, prohibiting her from forming friendships with males.

As a result, being carried through the sky by me was an adventure beyond anything she had ever imagined.

As we continued to soar through the vast expanse of the sky, heading towards the Main District, our journey took an unexpected turn.

We were abruptly halted by a group of formidable figures known as the Guardians of the Sky.

Their purpose was to protect the palace of their king from any potential threats that might approach from the skies.

The Guardians were known for their formidable strength and manoeuvring through the sky.

They were vigilant in safeguarding their territory, and they didn't take kindly to intruders.

As they approached, their expressions stern and their weapons at the ready, I knew that we would have to navigate this encounter to continue our mission.

"Halt!"

The Guardians of the Sky, clad in resplendent golden and white armour, mounted their majestic pegasi – holy creatures with wings on their backs.

In total, there were ten of these formidable sentinels, each exuding an aura of unwavering dedication to their duty.

The leader of the Guardians, easily distinguishable by the ornate design of his armour and the commanding presence he carried, stepped forward.

With a stern expression, he addressed us.

"State your name and your purpose for coming here without any authorization, and don't blame us for using force if you refuse to abide by it," the Captain declared, his voice firm and resolute.
