Chapter 1124: Tough

Delano was really startled when he saw Forcus’ suddenly appear beside him. However, he soon returned to normal, and frowned a little before saying, “Lord Forcus, I was just about to go look for you. We found a wanted fugitive who has a bounty on him on the Tower of Dusk’s ship. Now, the Tower of Dusk’s ship, as well as the sailors on board, have all been seized by me, and I was just about to go to that President Felic to hear his explanation.”

Forcus was immediately furious when he heard Delano’s words, and he almost vomited blood. He was still thinking about how to clean up this mess, but Delano actually wanted to cause even more trouble by trying to go and question Lin Li!

At this moment, Forcus really couldn’t be bothered anymore, and he wanted to just let Delano die. The seizure of The Star and the sailors on board was actually already considered very offensive to the young Sanctuary powerhouse, yet he still wanted to question Lin Li. It was simply a death wish.

However, Forcus couldn’t really do that, because Delano was the son of High Priest Poer, and if he really died in the hands of the Tower of Dusk, there would be no way to turn the situation around. If things got to that stage, no one would be able to stop the war between the Gilded Kingdom and the Tower of Dusk from breaking out.

Hence, despite the hatred in his heart, Forcus nonetheless gritted his teeth, and exclaimed, “Delano, haven’t I warned you before? Do you know that you’ve made a huge mistake!? You’d better go back immediately and release those sailors from The Star, and then go with me to apologize to President Felic! There will then be a possibility to reach a peaceful resolution of this matter. Otherwise, you will be the sinner of the Gilded Kingdom!”

“Lord Forcus, you didn’t get something wrong, did you? The Tower of Dusk should be apologizing to us instead.” This time, Delano was no longer afraid of Forcus, and he even sounded derisive, as if Forcus had become a wimp who betrayed the country’s interests.

Damn it, do you think I’m willing to lower myself and beg? You were the one who caused this trouble! Forcus was infuriated, and he pointed at Delano and berated, “President Felic is the guest of the Gilded Kingdom His Majesty personally received. By doing this, you are disrespecting His Majesty!”

Unfortunately, Delano was obviously full of courage this time, and he showed no intentions of apologizing even after what Forcus said about the king of the Gilded Kingdom. Instead, he nonchalantly said, “Is that so? Great. I was planning to tell His Majesty about this and let him see how these outsiders have violated the law of our nation. Lord Forcus, do you want to join me?”

Just when Forcus and Delano were embroiled in a messy argument, Garl, who had received Lin Li’s orders, had already arrived at Helena Port. The people in the port initially did not notice anything until they were enveloped by his shadow. They only realized then that a horrifying monster actually appeared above their heads, and they immediately fled frantically.

Hovering in the sky, Garl originally wanted to suck some people of the Gilded Kingdom, but when he thought of Lin Li’s orders, he had no choice but to suppress his appetite for the time being. He yelled, “People of the Gilded Kingdom, listen up! Release The Star and the sailors immediately. Otherwise, I will remind you once every 10 minutes!”

The people of the Fifth Fleet of the Gilded Kingdom had long noticed the sudden appearance of the monster in the sky, and all the battleships immediately activated their defensive shields while getting into battle mode. Initially, they thought that some kind of magical beast had invaded Helena Port, but after hearing the thunderous roar, they realized that the other party was actually coming for The Star.

A reminder once every 10 minutes? He can go ahead! Due to the fact that they had a powerful commander with an impressive family background, the people of the Fifth Fleet usually disregarded others. They had always had an extremely high sense of superiority even towards the other fleets of the Gilded Kingdom, let alone the outsiders from the Breezy Plains.

Hence, even after hearing Garl’s roaring, the people of the Fifth Fleet still remained relaxed. In their opinion, if the other party was a magical beast that invaded the port, they would probably have to get ready for a huge battle, but since it was from the Breezy Plains, there was nothing to worry about. He reckoned that the outsiders would definitely not dare to make trouble in the territory of the Gilded Kingdom, and he was at most just scaring them.

With that thought in mind, the people of the Fifth Fleet not only did not panic because of Garl’s appearance, they even ran to the deck and waited to see the creature that had arrived aggressively with ferocity in a bid to watch him leave fruitlessly.

When Garl arrived, he was actually afraid that he would scare them to the point of submitting immediately and releasing The Star and the sailors. That way, he wouldn’t be able to do whatever he wanted to do. However, the situation now was exactly what he wanted, though he still felt infuriated because he had been belittled.

10 minutes? I don’t have a timer! Garl laughed, and didn’t care about the 10-minute interval that he had just mentioned. He simply lowered his body and opened his large mouth to devour everything by launching a strong suction force at one of the Gilded Kingdom battleships on the sea.

This time, those people of the Fifth Fleet really had an eyeopener. They walked towards the battleship of their fleet, only to see that their upper defense shield had suddenly become warped, as if an invisible force was pulling the defense shield upwards. As it was being pulled, they also saw that the hull of the battleship was changing its trajectory, as if the force was pulling the entire battleship upward.

Before the people of the Fifth Fleet could figure out what was going on, there was a series of explosions from the battleship, and the powerful defensive shield actually turned into a sphere of light that darted away from the battleship and hurtled into the sky. At the same time, the naval troops on that ship were also launched into the sky together with a large number of loose items, following the light into the giant mouth of Garl.

“T-that monster is devouring our people!” someone exclaimed in horror as he finally snapped back to his senses. In fact, everyone could tell that the naval troops on that battleship were flying into the mouth of the monster, and they were obviously being devoured.

Actually, it wasn’t something new to them. After all, there were numerous marine beasts in the sea, and they had encountered lots of large magical beasts that devoured humans together with ships. However, this monster was sent by those from the Breezy Plains, and yet it attacked the Fifth Fleet there. Are they not scared of causing a war!?

“Damn it, they really don’t obey the rules, aren’t they afraid of causing a war!?” Adjutant Hajis exclaimed. He had stayed behind according to Delano’s orders, and was in charge of watching over The Star. They thought that the people from the Breezy Plains should have come to them to beg for mercy while they rejected righteously. In the end, the president of the Tower of Dusk would have to apologize in person.

However, it was obvious that the development of the situation from the beginning was beyond their expectations. The Tower of Dusk had no intention of apologizing, and instead sent such a horrifying monster to force the Fifth Fleet into releasing The Star and the captured sailors. The worse thing was that the monster originally said it’d give them 10 minutes, but attacked before five minutes passed, catching them off guard. They found that to be shameless.

“Lord Hajis, issue an order to counterattack. That monster is devouring our warriors!” Several naval officers rushed into the pilothouse with righteous indignation, and asked Adjutant Hajis to start a battle.

However, Hajis was a little hesitant. After all, what had happened before could only be considered a diplomatic incident, but the problem had changed in nature, and it might really result in a war!

“Lord Hajis, that monster even sucked our battleship into the sky!” reported a naval trooper who scurried in when Hajis was hesitating.

Hearing this, Hajis and others could not help but immediately look outside, only to see that a huge alchemical giant ship had completely left the sea, and was flying faster and faster towards the sky. Meanwhile, the monster was sucking the ship with a huge suction force, its mouth like a black hole.

“Damn it, it wants to destroy our battleship, Lord Hajis!” A few naval officers also panicked when they saw that scene. It would be quite costly to build a giant alchemical ship, even for the Gilded Kingdom which was famous for its nautical technology. It was not a small fishing boat.

They had no idea what the monster was trying to do by sucking the ship into the sky, but they were certain that once the suction force was withdrawn and the ship dropped, there would be a massive disaster at the port. The huge hull of the alchemical ship would cause an impact large enough to sweep everything in the port.

However, their fears were obviously not well-found. Garl didn’t suck the alchemical battleship into the sky for the fun of dropping it. The alchemical battleship was made of a large number of precious magical metals and Legendary magical crystals for providing power. To the Lord Devourer Garl, it was a rare feast.
