17. The Reason I Came To This World
I do not have an emotional attachment to this world in particular.
As far as I am concerned, this world is nothing more than Alex, Urie and my fellow workers in the garden.
However, since we came to this room, Alex hasn’t uttered a single word.
“Alex, do you want me to get married?”
When I asked frankly as usual, Alex looked at my direction as if taken aback.
Then after surveying his brothers, he stared at me intently and began to speak.
“I...do not want Haruto to get married. Since who knows when, Haruto became someone who’s like a true child to me. I do not want such Haruto to marry the Aloof King. Haruto should just stay in that garden with me. If war happens, I will drive everything away with magic.”
The Alex who said that didn’t have his usual frivolous impression at all.
I realized that he seriously believed that.
I am sure Alex has no interest in politics.
That is probably the reason why we can work together in the garden.
Nevertheless, he said that he may participate in a war for my sake.
When I heard these words, I made up my mind.
I firmly made eye contact with Alex and answered.
“I understand. I’m going to Caspar.”
Alex’s eyes widened.
“What did you underst—–!?”
I interrupted Alex’s remark as he became angry, and continued.
“For me, this world is nothing more than Alex, Urie and everyone in the garden. Above all, there are favors I received from Alex which I cannot completely return. Besides, Alex also said that it’s fine for you to go out to a war for my sake. Doesn’t that mean Alex gives priority to me more than to yourself? If that’s the case, then I will give priority to Alex over myself. Also, this choice is not just for the citizens of Orania. This is also for the citizens of the country that might declare war against us. If war happens, I’m sure Alex will knock them down, right?”
When I said that much without pausing, Alex embraced me tightly.
“Perhaps, this is the reason why I came to this country. When I think of the possiblity that Alex was the one to pick me up, it’s somehow cool.”
My voice is a little tearful, I burried my face in Alex’s chest.
“It’s not for such reason. Haruto must have come to this country to find happiness.”
Alex pats my head.
My heart is always rescued by this palm.
“Yeah, I’m sure I can become happy.”
I muttered as if to convince myself.
