Chapter 37: Wanting to Court Her
Jin Chen's cold exterior and bad temper were mostly attributed to this illness.
"I'm not sure," he calmly replied. Su Hanyan's face appeared in his mind.
If the first time was a coincidence, how could he explain the second time?
He believed that the lady had an unordinary existence!
Lu Feifan did not know the man's thoughts, so he did not think much about it. As his best friend, he was happy for him. "Who knows? Maybe your illness will go away soon!"
"Perhaps."
"I think it's for sure." He did not know where this confidence came from. "This has never happened before, has it? This is the first time, isn't it? I think even God couldn't stand it anymore and decided to show you some mercy."
"Snort." Jin Chen scoffed. "A physician yet actually a spiritualist!"
His expression darkened. "I know.
"But it's all in the past." Lu Feifan stretched lazily. "When you were asleep, I went to the operating room. Director Lin said that you can go home once you wake up. You've been at the operating table for seventeen to eighteen hours straight. Even a person made of iron would collapse! He's making you rest for three days. Thanks to you, I am permitted to send you back."
"Okay." Jin Chen really needed to rest. It was rare for him to feel this comfortable. He wanted to take this chance to sleep for a few days.
"Let's go." Lu Feifan took off his white coat and placed a hand on his friend's shoulder. He smiled and said, "I treat you well, right? As thanks, how do you want to repay me?"
Jin Chen was slightly stunned; his eyes which turned onto Lu Feifan revealed his ridicule. "Is there something wrong with your brain? Do you want to go to the neurology department?"
This glib-tongued and narcissistic fellow was his childhood friend. The two, who grew up together and had been through childish acts of peeing competitions, shared a strong bond.
'Gratitude' had never appeared in their dictionaries. What was wrong with this guy today?
"Forget it. I'll be direct." Lu Feifan laughed dryly. "You know the miss from earlier called Su Hanyan, right? I went to the nurses' station to ask around and heard that you had operated on her father."
"What do you want to do?" Jin Chen raised an eyebrow.
"Of course, I'm asking this because I want her to be my partner! Aish! Let me tell you: That miss is really pretty and her temper suits me. Let me put it this way; I fell in love with her at first sight! I wanna pursue her. Haven't you met her before? I want to get some information from you."
"Don't know."
"Hey, are you my friend?" Lu Feifan was anxious. "You know that my parents keep asking me to go on blind dates. I also went on countless ones but didn't take a fancy to any of them. I didn't expect to meet my soulmate here. I really wanna woo her! If you know anything, tell me."
"I don't know." He threw these words out. "I've never interacted with her before! I'm not sure!"
"Y-You…" the other squeezed through gritted teeth "…continue being like this, and you'll stay a bachelor in the future! "
"Cut the crap. Aren't you going to send me back? Let's go!" Jin Chen plucked his arm away from his friend, removed his white coat, and changed into a dark gray coat before striding out.
