Chapter 27: Such Talent
Su Hanyan playfully raised an eyebrow and smiled at her. "I'm not a talented person. Just a little!"
"Really?" Zhu Lin looked pleasantly surprised even as incredulity tinged her voice. "Say a few sentences. If you can, I'll believe you!"
"That's simple." For a person like her who grew up in the twenty-first century and attended all sorts of enrichment and English classes, she was proficient in the language.
After graduating from college, she furthered her studies abroad for three years. Her English could be considered impeccable.
"Here's a book." Her roommate hurriedly handed it over.

She came back to her senses after a while and quickly jumped up from her chair. She hugged Su Hanyan and swung her around like a spoiled child. "Savior! You're practically a savior sent by God! Teach me. Be my teacher, will you?"
Su Hanyan was dizzy from all that shaking. "Okay, okay, okay! I'll teach you, alright?"
"Really?"
"Of course! We're roommates and friends!"
Seeing her agree so readily, Zhu Lin jumped three feet high, more excited than she would have been had she picked up money. "Awesome! Absolutely awesome! You're the best!"
"Right?" Su Hanyan giggled. "Don't forget me if good things happen to you in the future!"
"No, I absolutely won't!" Zhu Lin swore to the heavens. She was puzzled. "How did you learn English? Does your family know about it?"
"Cough, cough." Su Hanyan shamelessly boasted and made up a big lie. "Don't you know?There are people in the world who are born talented! I've never come into contact with English, but for some strange reason, I just somehow know how to speak and write it! Do you think that it's strange?"
Otherwise, how could she explain her fluency in English?
Zhu Lin said enviously, "If only I had that ability!"
"Don't worry. As long as you practice diligently, you'll definitely be able to do it. I'll eat first; we'll start after!" she said.

She felt bad seeing Zhu Lin holding two lunch boxes, with her hands even turning red from the cold.
She hurriedly put on her clothes and got out of bed. "I was just joking with you last night. Did you take it to heart? We're friends; there's no need for this. Let it be the first and last, alright? Thank you!"
