Chapter 63: Drama On Set

“Director Zheng, I’d like to discuss with you about the possibility of taking a leave of absence for half a day.”

Jiang Zhi hurriedly ran to the waiting room and looked at the crew members who were about to begin filming. She felt extremely apologetic.

Wu Dai’s advertisement shoot was in trouble. His camera panics were so severe that he was trembling all over. Xie Yun had called her to ask for help.

Director Zheng frowned. He hated actors who were involved in drama and left the set at will.

Jiang Zhi’s eyes turned slightly. She threw out a solution and said, “When it’s my turn to shoot, I can change it to the weekend.”

“I promise that I will meet your requirements and not delay the progress of the production team. Is that okay?”

The cameraman was confident in her. He put in a good word for Jiang Zhi. Director Zheng nodded in agreement.

Jiang Lu stood at the door. Seeing that she was about to leave, she said sarcastically, “Oh dear, you just came and left like that. are all the managers of Star Glory that briliant? Do you think that the production team is invested by Star Glory? Director, if you let her leave today, you won’t be able to explain it to the other actors!”

Jiang Zhi saw that she was trying to stir up trouble and could not be bothered to talk nonsense. “My job is to complete the filming tasks with high quality and quantity. What about you?”

“There are still some problems with the details of your scenes from yesterday. Take more care of yourself and stop staring at others! Even if you have talent, you can’t waste your capital as you please. Sooner or later, you will be crushed by the younger generation! You’d better have some sense of crisis.”

Jiang Lu choked and wanted to refute, but she saw her little assistant come over to her with a phone in hand, saying that her manager had something to discuss with her…

“Hello? Jiang Lu, are you on the set? The schedule of the first-year commercial shoot and the shooting period of ‘beacon’ are clashing.”

“We might need to ask for a week’s leave of absence for our shooting and the platform activities around the world. Tell Director Zheng about it…”

In the quiet waiting room, the little assistant wore a loudspeaker that magnified the manager’s voice by tenfold so that Director Zheng and the cameraman could hear it clearly.

Jiang Lu had just mocked Jiang Zhi, and now she had to ask for a leave of absence as well. She could not help but look embarrassed as she glared at Jiang Zhi with resentment.

Then, she shyly smiled and ran to Director Zheng’s side, saying, “Did you hear that?”

“I’ll buy a small gift for all the staff of our production team! seven days, Director Zheng, just raise your hand!”

Director Zheng directly refused and unceremoniously shook the filming plan, “You’re the second female lead. The contract stated very clearly that you can’t leave the team without permission! Do you know how many people’s work will be affected? The setting, set management, and even the extras have to be adjusted! Who will bear the costs?”

Jiang Lu’s expression instantly changed. She pointed at Jiang Zhi, who was watching the show, and said, “Why should she be allowed to take a Leave?”

“Junior is a high-end milk brand imported from abroad. Do you all know how significant the impact of its brand is?”

“Perhaps, after I finish shooting the advertisement, I can even bring heat to the crew!”

Director Zheng still disagreed, and Jiang Lu was furious.

“Don’t think that I don’t know. The entire crew can see that you and Jiang Zhi are up to something. You hang out with each other all day and say that you’re discussing the script. Who would believe that?

“Who would believe that there are no unspoken rules?”

The crew members were stunned. They stared at Jiang Lu like she was a clown. Compared to what she said, they trusted Jiang Zhi and Director Zheng’s character more.

Director Zheng was so angry at Jiang Lu’s slander that his face turned ashen. He said bluntly, “Jiang Zhi can make up for her part, can you?

“Compared to when you debuted, you’ve been everything but fickle-minded. You don’t even show up at the gathering of actors who read the script… can you still be considered an actor?”

Jiang Lu slammed the table. Since she debuted, when had she ever received such slander?

She directly shot back at Director Zheng, “I can also reduce my working hours! The script for ‘beacon’ is rubbish. It’s not worth my research at all! It doesn’t matter if you give me a holiday today or not, the commercial is definitely going to be filmed!”

Director Zheng’s lips trembled. He almost had a heart attack. He covered his heart and swallowed two instant heart-saving pills.

The cameraman wanted to speak up for him, but Director Zheng stopped him. He waved his hand and said in a weak voice, “If you insist on leaving, it can only be considered a breach of contract. I will represent the production team to apply for compensation from Swallowtail…”

“Seven days, more than 50 scenes. I will directly cut out your scenes.

“When you come back, you don’t have to rush for any additional filming. Feel free to shoot the commercial!”

Director Zheng’s tone was firm. He immediately informed the scriptwriter to rush to the production team to discuss the adjustment of the plot.

Jiang Lu was a little flustered and did not want to cut out any scenes. However, Director Zheng ignored her and stared at the monitor until Jiang Lu left the set resentfully…

Director Zheng looked at her back and was so angry that he threw his walkie-talkie. “What bullsh*t actress!”

“The Director’s Association should know what kind of person she is. In the future, you have to do a good background check for the casting!”
