Chapter 28: Ch. 28 Richard’s Treatment

As soon as she finished making payments through the smartphone app, Anxia held her phone carefully as if the long, thin object was a priceless object. Her movements were subtle but did not escape her husband’s eagle-like eyes.

Richard was pleased in his heart. At least for a while, he was sure his wife would not throw her phone carelessly.

“Xia Xia, change into this one, then pick some clothes to take home.”

“Why?”

“We’re going to meet my parents. You don’t want to make a bad first impression, do you? Especially since Lori would be there to welcome you. Unless you wish our daughter to see you like a monster.”

“Tsk. I mean, why should I pick some clothes to take home? Why don’t you take them all with you?”

“Ah, the others will be brought to our house, so we don’t have to carry a lot of things when we move.”

.....

Anxia narrowed her eyes suspiciously. “Our house? So we won’t be living with your parents.”

Richard smiled, “And letting you find loopholes to threaten me by using my family; I don’t think so.”

Anxia’s brows furrowed. How did this man know her wicked plan? Not by holding his parents as hostages, but she planned to find the Tiffany III program created by Stanley. This was one of the reasons why she was willing to be this man’s wife apart from her daughter.

Oh, never mind. For now, she would act like a good wife and make Richard fall over head heels with her. Once the time came, then she would carry out her plans.

Of course, Anxia didn’t make any drastic changes so as not to make Richard feel suspicious of her. She would gradually let Richard approach her and pamper her, for she also enjoyed being pampered in expensive clothes like this. Only then would she make Richard fall in love with her to her knees, begging for her devotion.

After changing into Richard’s chosen dress, the husband, who wanted to pamper his wife, took Anxia to a shoe and bag shop. Just like when it comes to choosing clothes, Anxia didn’t hesitate to pick a bag that caught her eye, and this time, she didn’t hesitate to choose the costly bags without trying them on and took them straight to the cashier.

Anxia watched Richard’s expression to see any concern in the man’s eyes. But Richard still wore a satisfied smile that Anxia couldn’t understand.

“Aren’t you afraid I’ll ruin you?”

“Oh? I want to see how you ruin me.”

Anxia bit the inside of her cheek, feeling irritated to see this man actually felt challenged as if he was challenging her to shop more and desired to know if he would go bankrupt or not.

Anxia became dispirited as she entered the shoe store. She knew the longer she wanted to see the man’s worried expression by spending hundreds of thousands of euros shopping, the more he smiled!

That’s why Anxia didn’t go as ignorant as before when choosing shoes. She just chose some party shoes and comfortable boots to wear. There were also some flip-flops to chill out while she was strolling in the garden or having a picnic.

“Why did you only buy a few?” fre ewebno vel.com

Anxia was astonished that Richard actually felt unhappy seeing her not spending much at this shoe store.

“Why have so many shoes? I only choose the one that makes me comfortable. The other shoes aren’t that important.”

Anxia bit her lip in frustration. Her answer must have sounded ridiculous because, before this, she had bought so many clothes and bags without caring whether she would wear them or not.

Would Richard be sarcastic about her? Was it possible that the man would make fun of her? Well, what does it matter? She didn’t care if Richard would make fun of her or look at her with disdain.

But what she faced left her speechless.

Instead of making fun of her, the man looked at her with something she had never seen before. The look in the man’s eyes made her heart tremble as if there was a big blanket covering her stoney, cold heart.

Anxia was even more unmoving when the man’s hand moved to rub the back of her head gently.

Anxia’s breath caught when she felt the man’s big hand on her head. She remembered this feeling well, and the gentle caress on her head made her heart feel warm and loved. She recalled how often her father stroked her head like this.

“Then I’ll choose a shoe that suits you right now.”

Anxia bit her lip again as soon as Richard moved to see a row of shoes that Anxia didn’t see. She looked at the man with a complicated look while clutching her chest.

This guy is dangerous! She thought to herself. Aria didn’t know what danger could make her feel threatened, but she knew that if she was with Richard all the time, only time could tell her that all her original plans would fail miserably.

NO! She couldn’t let that happen! Anxia decided to quickly get rid of Richard from the face of this earth before he conquered her.

It’s just... Her heart was shaking again, and Anxia was doubtful when Richard returned with a pair of beautiful shoes the same color as her clothes. The man sat her on a soft lounger, then kneeled on one leg to put the shoes of his choice on Anxia’s feet.

Without disgust or hesitation, Richard put on the shoes with gentle motions as if the feet he touched were precious porcelain objects.

Anxia had never been treated like this before. She remembered that she was indeed pampered and loved by her parents. But that was when she was very young, and her fond memories with her parents faded, and she couldn’t remember much.

Since she was adopted and trained as a cold-blooded assassin by Master Yu, no one treated her like a princess. No one cared about her health or the screams she cried every time she got hurt. Anxia had to take care of herself, and she had to take care of her wounds and survive alone.

Therefore, when someone treated her like Richard, Anxia’s cold heart could not help but tremble.

Will Richard be able to melt his wife’s tight-closed heart?freewebno vel.com
