“Uncle, you can only report a missing person after 24 hours. If you’re really anxious and still can’t contact Zhang Rui, you can come to the police station on Chengping Street to look for me.”
“You’re a police officer?” The man on the phone sounded surprised, as if he couldn’t imagine his usually carefree daughter being friends with a police officer.
“Just come to the police station to look for Yin Tao. I’ll come out to meet you.” Yin Tao didn’t explain her profession. After all, she was part of the police force.

“What’s wrong? Has something come up at the police station?” Lin Jia asked with concern when he saw Yin Tao’s solemn expression.

Lin Jia took the bill before Yin Tao could do so. He took out his car keys and said to Yin Tao, “I’ll send you back to the police station.”
Yin Tao took a ride in Lin Jia’s car back to the police station. After she got out of the car, Lin Jia stuck his head out of the window worriedly and said to Yin Tao, “Little sister Xiaotao, you must rest well. Contact me anytime if you need me.”
Yin Tao gratefully nodded her head at Lin Jia. After watching him drive off, she informed the guards that a middle-aged man might come looking for her in a while, she gave them her contact number and quickly walked into the police station.
“Bai Luo!” Yin Tao saw Bai Luo in the corridor of the police station. She was about to go upstairs. Yin Tao called out to her and gave chase.
“Weren’t you sent out on surveillance duty?” Yin Tao saw the dark circles under Bai Luo’s eyes and was sure that she must have worked through the night again.
“Xia Jin went to replace me. I’m having my period and really can’t take it anymore.” Bai Luo rubbed her tummy and complained to Yin Tao, “That Meng Heng looks extremely normal. I can’t find any issues with him at all.”
“Then go and have a good rest. You look unwell.” Yin Tao patted Bai Luo’s shoulder sympathetically. “You have to persevere. If he is the murderer, he will give something away sooner or later.”
“I hope so. The warrant application submitted by Captain Feng has been rejected by the higher-ups. There is too little evidence. We have no right to restrict Meng Heng’s personal freedom.” Bai Luo yawned and asked Yin Tao, “Do you have anything else? Why don’t we go back to the dormitory together? I need to get some sleep.”
“You can go back first. Where is Captain Feng? I have something to discuss with him,” Yin Tao said.
“I think he’s in the archives room. Captain Feng hasn’t been idle either. If this case isn’t solved, we won’t be able to rest well.”
Yin Tao looked at Bai Luo’s exhausted appearance and said to her, “Then go back to the dormitory to rest first. I’ll go back after I’m done.”
After parting ways with Bai Luo, Yin Tao quickly walked towards the archives room and gently knocked on the door. After hearing Feng Jing’s voice, she walked in.
“Brother Feng, what are you looking at?” Yin Tao noticed that Feng Jing had been looking at the computer, she took a look at the screen too.
“The surveillance cameras near Meng Heng’s aesthetics hospital.” Feng Jing rubbed his dry eyes and pressed the pause button on the computer.
“Did you find anything?” Yin Tao felt that Feng Jing looked a little tired.
“There’s nothing special about him. Meng Heng seems to be very normal. Besides work and home, he doesn’t seem to have any other activities.” Feng Jing noticed that Yin Tao was a little more well dressed than usual and asked, “I wanted to practice some self-defense skills with you this morning but heard from Xiao Xia that you went out?”
“Oh, I went to see Brother Lin Jia.”
