Yin Tao wasn’t hopeful that Shanshan would agree to let her keep the sketchbook. She thought she would find an opportunity to take a photo of this drawing instead. She didn’t expect Shanshan to agree so readily, and to even seem a bit happy about doing so.
Yin Tao put away Shanshan’s sketchbook carefully. She then gently stroked her head and said out of concern, “In the future, Shanshan will get along with everyone the same way you get along with me. Everyone will like Shanshan.”
Yin Tao didn’t think that Shanshan had any communication disorder, and she wasn’t surprised by her at all. In Yin Tao’s eyes, she was just an introverted little girl. She will get better once she gets some counseling. Many children in orphanages are like her, they tend to be more mature and sensible than their peers due to their life experiences. They also tend to develop psychological issues.
“I only like Big Sister. I don’t need anyone else to like me.” Shanshan’s sudden words surprised Yin Tao. This was the longest sentence Shanshan had said to her since they met.
“Big Sister also likes you very much.” Yin Tao gently picked up Shanshan and sat by the bed. She looked at her chubby little face and asked, “Why do you like Big Sister? We’ve only just met, haven’t we?”
Shanshan did not resist Yin Tao’s embrace. Instead, she revealed a child-like smile. “Uncle Lin said that he wants to bring a particularly brave sister with him. That sister is a princess who ran out of the magic forest. She has the magic powers to defeat monsters.”
Yin Tao was surprised that Lin Jia would actually say this to Shanshan. The courageous princess he spoke of also was her.
“I’m indeed very powerful. Shanshan, you have to be like me. Eat well, sleep well, and become an even braver little princess in the future, okay?”
Seeing Shanshan nod vigorously, Yin Tao gently pinched her chubby cheeks.
Lin Jia walked in and saw this heartwarming scene. Yin Tao was sitting on a small bed by the window with an adorable little girl in her arms, the two of them were chatting and laughing away.
Lin Jia felt that Yin Tao would make a very good wife. She was independent, brave, smart, and kind. She had many outstanding qualities.

Lin Jia smiled awkwardly. He took out two tiara hair clips from his pocket and gently pinned them on Yin Tao and Shanshan’s hair.
“Now, I pronounce the two of you princesses.” Lin Jia was pleased to see Shanshan happily stroking the hair clip on her head. He then pulled out an exquisite watercolor pen from behind, like a magician, and placed it in front of Shanshan.
“This is a gift from me. If you enjoy drawing, continue to draw to your heart’s content. When you grow up, I will get a better art teacher to teach you, okay?”
Shanshan was very happy to receive Lin Jia’s gift. Her tense little face smiled even more brightly.
Yin Tao realized that Shanshan seemed to be more relaxed with Lin Jia. It seemed that Lin Jia had spent a lot of effort engaging with Shanshan.
“Shanshan, quickly go dance with Teacher Zhang. The children are all waiting for you.”
