104 Speculation

The two of them focused their attention back on the interrogation room. Feng Jing had already asked Zhang Rui a series of basic questions.

“Song Yi and Xiao Ming were your high school classmates?” Feng Jing looked at Zhang Rui’s affected mannerisms and frowned unconsciously.

“Yes, we were all in a private high school, but I didn’t know Xiao Ming well at that time, and Song Yi wasn’t that close to me either.” Zhang Rui saw that Feng Jing didn’t have much interest in her and her previous enthusiasm went down a lot.

“Then how did you two become friends?” Feng Jing could tell that Zhang Rui and Song Yi were not that close. If it was a good friend who died tragically, Zhang Rui wouldn’t have been in the mood to put on such exquisite makeup.

!!

“It’s because of our family backgrounds. We used to attend parties and banquets together. As time passed, we became familiar with each other. Although Song Yi is pretty, she’s actually very simple-minded. Our interests don’t match and I can’t get along with her, but I don’t dislike as well.”

Feng Jing observed Zhang Rui’s expression and found that she spoke in a relaxed manner and didn’t show any signs of lying.

“If I asked you to guess who killed Song Yi, who would you think of?” Feng Jing saw that Zhang Rui wasn’t taking this very seriously, so he asked a very bold question.

“Little brother, if I name names, won’t I offend someone? Isn’t it a little too much no matter who I named?” Zhang Rui looked at Feng Jing’s deep eyes and felt that this man was her idea of good looking.

“I’m just letting you guess. If you can’t think of anyone, forget it.” Feng Jing gently flipped through the documents in his hand and realized that Zhang Rui’s father was a property developer in City A.

“If you give me your contact information, I will tell you.” Zhang Rui sat closer to Feng Jing.

“Madam Zhang, this is the police station. Please be serious.” The police officer who was recording disliked Zhang Rui’s frivolous attitude and reprimanded her.

“I’m not talking to you.” Zhang Rui snorted and turned around stubbornly.

“It is the duty of every citizen to cooperate with the police and to assist in investigations. If you don’t cooperate and make a statement, or if you withhold information, you might be charged.” Feng Jing’s voice was very calm, but yet very intimidating.

Zhang Rui frowned and put down her legs. She explained to Feng Jing, “I didn’t break the law. Why are you intimidating me?”

Feng Jing didn’t respond, but it was obvious that what he had just said was still effective. Zhang Rui’s attitude had changed greatly.

“I can’t think of anyone who would kill Song Yi, but her personality is quite weak. In my opinion, she’s even a little saintly, so I don’t really like her.” Although Zhang Rui didn’t hate Song Yi, she didn’t like her personality either.

“What did Song Yi do to make you think of her this way?” Feng Jing felt that Zhang Rui was still hiding something.

“It’s all in the past.” Zhang Rui sighed and told Feng Jing what she could think of. “When I was in high school, I listened to my family and wanted to build a good relationship with Song Yi. After all, her parents are from a scholarly family. My parents always felt that Song Yi was well brought up and wanted me to be friends with her.”

“But at that time, Song Yi had a sidekick called Xue Na. Moreover, that girl was very scheming. I had no chance to become friends with Song Yi.”

Zhang Rui tucked her hair behind her ear and explained to Feng Jing, “Actually, I’m a straightforward person. If I either like or hate someone. I can’t stand Xue Na’s weird behavior the most.”

“Was Xue Na Song Yi’s best friend at that time?” Feng Jing was very curious about the new name Zhang Rui mentioned.

“Yes, but she was simply evil through and through. She messed up a lot of Song Yi’s matters and almost caused Xiao Ming and Song Yi to break up.” Zhang Rui mentioned Xiao Ming and asked Feng Jing, “I couldn’t get hold of Xiao Ming either. He and Song Yi are so close. How is he now?”

Feng Jing saw the worry on Zhang Rui’s face and said to her, “He’s coping. This is very traumatic for him, try to give him some support as a friend.”

“I’ve already said that we’re not really friends.” Zhang Rui explained impatiently, “We used to keep in touch, but later on, the gatherings always ended on bad terms, so our relationship slowly faded.”

“Are you still in touch with that Xue Na?”

Upon hearing Feng Jing’s words, Zhang Rui shook her head and looked a little displeased. “Of course not. I detested her so much. After that, Song Yi also lost touch with her. Because Song Yi went to a university overseas, she didn’t have many friends in the country now, just some from high school.”
