101 Witness

Xiao Ming didn’t react much to what Feng Jing said. Instead, he explained calmly, “There’s no conflict. It was just a misunderstanding, and we got together after it was resolved.”

Xiao Ming was clearly unwilling to go into it. It was painful for him to recall his wife’s past.

Feng Jing didn’t probe further. He didn’t want to get an answer from Xiao Ming on this, instead he planned to ask others about this.

“Your nanny has already been summoned by the police. If you can think of any other suspects, you can tell me. This will help us solve the case soon as possible.”

!!

Xiao Ming nodded. He didn’t have the energy to think about this now.

“Officer, can I go home?” Xiao Ming’s voice was weak and he looked dejected.

“Sure, but you have to stay in touch with the police at all times.” Feng Jing felt that Xiao Ming was still not in a good state and planned to start with others.

Xiao Ming followed Feng Jing out of the interrogation room and could hardly walk without Ji Yu’s help.

“He’s not a prime suspect.” Feng Jing looked at Yin Tao and said, “It’s not because he’s sad, but because he didn’t have the time to commit the crime last night.”

“Although the surveillance cameras at the villa are broken, he went to the supermarket and mall before he returned to the villa. These can be verified. Moreover, the surveillance cameras at the entrance of the villa also captured Xiao Ming’s car. The time matches. He didn’t have enough time to take care of the corpse.”

Feng Jing was very clear minded when handling cases and he also had very sound logic.

“Xiao Ming is emotionally unstable now. We can only start with the victim’s other friends.” Yin Tao also felt that Xiao Ming was not a prime suspect, but since they have not investigated Song Yi’s network yet, they couldn’t completely believe Xiao Ming’s words.

“We’ve already contacted Song Yi and Xiao Ming’s friends. Xiao Ming’s helper will also come to the police station later.” Feng Jing looked at the time and estimated that she should be here soon.

“Who are Song Yi and Xiao Ming’s friends?” Yin Tao felt that Xiao Ming didn’t look like he was lying just now. He and Song Yi shouldn’t be people who tend to offend others.

“I heard from Captain Chen that one is Xiao Ming’s assistant and the other is Song Yi and Xiao Ming’s high school classmate.”

Feng Jing received Captain Chen’s notice to wait for updates in the interrogation room. Captain Chen brought the other officers from division two to check the surveillance cameras near Cheng Yu villa. If they wanted to bury the corpse in front of the villa, there would definitely be a transportation process.

“Did Song Yi do anything special before she disappeared?” Yin Tao asked.

Feng Jing shook his head and handed a document to Yin Tao. “This is a documentation of the entire process of the police station receiving the report on Song Yi’s disappearance. The person who reported it was Xiao Ming. There’s no way to determine the exact location of Song Yi’s disappearance. Her usual range of activity is very simple, but no one noticed that she had disappeared. Xiao Ming only reported the case when he realized that Song Yi hadn’t returned home for a long time.”

“Just like Li Ting’s case, she disappeared without anyone noticing. It is likely that the murderer was known to the victims. There was no dispute or fight.”

Yin Tao felt that the murderer of these missing persons was very terrifying. He didn’t seem to have kidnapped or used violence to restrain them. Instead, he made the victims voluntarily disappear from everyone’s sight without arousing any suspicion.

“Captain Feng.” Ji Yu pushed open the door of the interrogation room. Beside him stood two women of completely different ages and temperaments.

“These two are Song Yi’s friends and Xiao Ming’s nanny.” Ji Yu pointed out to Feng Jing.

The nervous-looking woman in her forties seemed to be Xiao Ming’s nanny. The other woman was quite pretty. She appeared to be in her early thirties and was wearing branded clothes. Her makeup was exquisite, but she had frowned tightly since she entered the police station.

“Who wants to enter the interrogation room with me first?” Feng Jing looked at the two people beside Ji Yu.

“She should go first. I just found out the news not long ago. I’ve not digested the news yet.”

The wealthy-looking woman deliberately covered her mouth and nose. She seemed to be sad as she sobbed a few times. However, her expression was a little arrogant. Her exquisitely made-up eyes paused on Feng Jing for a while before she sat on the bench outside the interrogation room.

The middle-aged woman grabbed the corner of her shirt nervously, not daring to speak her mind.

“We’ll have to do this sooner or later anyway. Come with me first.” Feng Jing saw that the middle-aged woman was very nervous, so he opened the door of the interrogation room and gestured for her to enter.

Yin Tao sat on the other end of the bench. Because Song Yi’s friends were present, Ji Yu and Yin Tao put on earphones so that they could hear what was being said in the interrogation room.
