Chapter 35: Reality

'NO IT CAN'T BE! WHY WOULD AN ELF BE HERE OF ALL PLACES? THAT SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE, FUCK JUST CALM DOWN DAMN IT....CALM DOWN AZRAIL!' I screamed in my mind while also feeling like I was about to have a heart attack.

My heart was pounding violently, it came to the point where I could hear its drumming on each breathe. To make matters worse my body was in a cold sweat and it took everything I had to not shake from the amount of fear I felt.

'They... They still haven't moved and I believe this Elf in unarmed. That really doesn't matter though considering their whole damn body is a weapon. Then why haven't they taken a shot? Also how long have they been watching me?'

My finger still held strong to the ground making me able to still sense the Elf. I started to think of more questions, but all of them had no answer.

I dropped asking questions and merely focused what I had to do to ensure survival.

'Do I fight or run... Running would probably give me a higher chance of getting killed now that I think about it. Elves are experts in long range combat, but they lack in close range. Still this damn monster has so many advantages over me, not even beginning to mention its insane mana pool.'

When deciding when to fight or run I usually go with the option which is safer unless it's a personal matter. Yet this type of case has never happened to me before where I can't choose.

Both options lead to a high chance of me being killed. I also assume worst case scenario meaning my instructor or anyone else isn't able to help.

'This is really bad, how the hell could I even get this damn blindfold off without that thing noticing? I guess that would be the signal to how things kick off. Whatever, I already have a path leading to that thing, so I guess I need to fight...'

I gave one last sense throughout the path and the Elf as well. The path leading to him is about 400 yards, hopefully I can get in range faster than they can separate it.

I needed to go all out with speed right from the start, holding back wasn't an option. If I had the opportunity to kill, I would also take that as well.

I started to channel Ki to the upmost limit throughout my entire body. In next split second I rolled to my right making me not only stand on my feet but blocking a shot path as well.

I ripped off the blindfold while filling my body with an electrical current. Only a second has gone by and the Elf hasn't moved from its original position.

With my feet planted to the ground I ripped off it like a whip, making me seem like a blur while dodging trees. I made it to the tree the Elf was standing on in 2 seconds.

I didn't waste time and started to run up the tree which seemed to be over 500 yards tall. Within another 2 seconds I made it to the branch the Elf was standing on just to see it standing there not even looking at me.

That didn't bother me one bit though as I was already above it and pointed my left arm downwards towards the Elf.

I used the wind element to control the air around me and slammed it right on top of the Elfs body. This broke every branch in its path and was able to slam the Elf 400 yards down into the ground.

I pivoted my feet against the tree to have my toes face downwards and blitzed off the tree to reach the ground.

Upon reaching the ground I saw the Elf slowly getting up, but I didn't want that to happen. I appeared right in front of his head and used my right hand to slam their face into the ground.

Or I attempted to, I looked down to see the Elfs head didn't even budge.

I switched my hands position to the back of its neck and held it as strongly as possible while making sure to dig my fingers in. My fingers didn't go in much showing how strong this Elf was.

I noticed the Elfs left hand being raised and its fingers opening up. I quickly used my left hand to interlock our fingers together to ensure no space would be created.

As soon as I did this though I felt a foreign mana force enter my body which discharged my electrical current.

My eyes opened wide as I knew now I could only stick to grappling, if I let go of any body part, I'd be dead. Losing my electrical current has lowered my speed tremendously, if this Elf gets any space it can easily turn into a long distance battle.

I could feel its neck starting to give in, I used my strength to bring up its left arm all the way to its back. I could feel it trying to resist, but being in such an awkward position the body can only hold on for so long.

'If I can break its left arm I'll have the advantage, I need to keep pushing.'

I noticed a right punch start to come for my liver, I quickly turned my waist to stop the punch halfway with my hip lowering the impact greatly. With the Elf using their mana to subdue mine it couldn't control the elements nor use spells. This made it only rely on physical combat which I clearly had an advantage in.

As I finally made its arm reach all the way to its back, I started to turn it making it bend in a way it wasn't supposed to. It was very easy to do so and finally its arm broke.

The Elf didn't make any noise, although it started to punch me more frantically but none of the punches did significant damage.

I let go of the Elfs left arm and used my body to turn on its left side to take its back. When I reached its back it tried to turn, but my right hand never left its neck, so they stayed in the same bent position.

Using my free left arm, I wrapped it around the front of its neck and used my right arm to further increase the chokehold. I was trying to kill this Elf with a rear naked chokehold.

Capturing it was not an option, this thing was too dangerous to be left alive.
