Chapter 32: Secrets

POV: Azrail Diggory

I was sitting in what I believe to be my instructors office, it couldn't even be called an office because all it had were couches and a mere table. Although the room was not on my mind, my training was.

After we had arrived at out headquarters multiple men seemed to be waiting for us and took the kid named Blaze away immediately. They did not say anything to us and just left with the kid in their possession. Though to be honest I did not care at all where that kid goes.

I was now currently focused on what my instructor had in mind for my training, we only have 6 days now, so I need to know what he wants me to accomplish in those days.

"I think we should focus on your tracking abilities. You lack the ability to notice when your being trailed by a high-level target which can be fatal when spying. I will also give you all the intelligence we have on the other three major races, although it's old, it still gives you the basics." My instructor said while his eyes were closed.

"Are you sure? My tracking abilities are definitely not as good as a sensor, but they are by no means bad. I used to find people hunting me down countless of times."

"I'm positive, your tracking skills need to be polished. Remember you're going to a school filled with prodigies, the people that hunted you down are basically garbage compared to them. "

"Alright... is that really all we are going to be working on?"

My instructor took a while before answering my question. I was worried, I had no idea what to expect and that's what I hated the most.

"We don't have any time for anything else, I know it sucks but that's the situation we are in. You will simply have to improve on your own, I will give you the theories of other topics, but it's up to you to not only understand them but remember them."

"Wait what do you mean remember them?'

"I can only verbally tell you the theories, that is all. We can't risk writing anything down, that goes for when you find information as well. You must keep everything in your head."

"I figured, well then what should I do for the rest of today?"

"Just go to your room and study the files that are on your bed. It's the intel we have on the races which will definitely help you out. After practice every day you will study those files, don't half ass reading them make sure to take your time and understand everything you can."

I gave no response and immediately started to walk towards my room. I had started to hope that these files would give back some of my confidence.

.......

POV: William Hunt

Azrail had left the room and I was finally left alone in my little office. I breathed out a sigh of relief and proceeded to pull out a cigarette.

The news the academy gave us was truly a bomb shell, not only did Azrail get his training cut in half, but the others prep time had been cut short. For such a grand operation this was truly a worst case scenario.

I slammed my fist down on the table which smashed the thing to pieces.

"FUCK!" I screamed out, I was beyond frustrated with how things were going overall for humanity. Everything we are attempting to do is in the dark, who actually knows if this academy will actually help us humans out.

Although our leader said this academy won't harm us can that really be believable? What is stopping them committing a mass genocide on everyone there? What the hell is the Fallem Empires goal?

Not only that but the Elves are breathing down our necks, experts believe they will declare war in 7 years, but with what they've been doing lately I think 3 is the more appropriate answer.

Why won't the damn leaders listen to our advice and declare war on them! We finally have the capabilities to cross that damn sea so why can't we fight on their soil! I know those damn leaders didn't forget what happened in the last great war so why won't they even ponder the damn idea?

The odds of mending our relationship with the Elves at the academy is extremely low, there's no way they are putting all of their hope into that idea.

Humanity can't take another war on its soil; at this rate it won't be long until we are removed from this planet or turned into a slave race. I hope after the first year of the academy that they see this or else we are doomed.

With all the stress built up inside I decided to leave my office and started heading towards the main building. After walking in went to the closest elevator let its doors shut.

"William Hunt, code 49373390, requesting access to floor zero." I said out loud in the elevator.

"Access granted." A robotic voice sounded out inside the elevator while it started to descend into the deeper floors.

After 20 minutes the elevator doors finally opened, after leaving the elevator I came to see a massive gate made out what seemed to be stone. I put mana and Ki towards my eyes and started to see the complex designs all over the massive stone gate.

I put my hand against the gate and pushed mana inside of it to fill the designs in a certain order.

Once the order was completed the gate slowly opened up which revealed what was on the other side of it. I started to walk down a straight hallway with prison cells on each side. Each cell was numbered and had a symbol next to it showing which race was inside the cell.

The hallway was dead silent and only my footsteps could be heard, each cell has multiple arrays cast on them with one of them being a noise canceller. This means they can't hear me, nor can I hear them unless I go inside their cell.

I stopped walking and looked to my right to see a cell with the number 85 and a symbol of a bow which represented the Elves. I did the same mana process as I did with the gate which made the cell door open.

As I walked inside the cell what met my eyes was a man who was chained against the wall and hand a special blindfold covering his eyes.

I walked over to the man very slowly making sure he heard every footstep I took and stopped when I was a few inches away from his body. The man was chained to the wall standing, so I punched him in the stomach as hard as I could.

"Did you miss me?" I said to the Elf while having a big old smile on my face.
