Chapter 30: Order

After 40 minutes of driving, we finally arrived at the police station. When I exited the car and looked at the building, I was actually very happy. The reason for this is because the building looked to be very old and not heavily guarded.

'Let's not get too hasty, the interior is what really matters. I should also be on the lookout for strong energy signals to see if I'm capable of killing everyone in this building...' I thought to myself as Laura walked Infront of me.

We made our way through the doors and the first thing I noticed was this building had the same marble floors as the hospital I was in.

'...Fuck.' This thought rang in my head, considering I couldn't send a pulse at the hospital then I shouldn't be able to do that here either which gave me a little worry.

The next second Laura looked back at me and pointed at a room that was to my left. I understood the signal and walked to that door then opened it revealing a very simple room.

Two simple chairs could be seen with a desk filled with personal items separated the chairs. I took a seat to the chair closest to me with leaving the other one open for Laura.

It seemed the questioning would be done in her office which is a dumb mistake on her part. I was way too close to the exist and if I were a real suspect that would lead to me having an easy escape route.

'Has she deemed me innocent already? Or is this police protocol?' I questioned, I knew almost nothing to how the police force does thing here, so all of this was new to me.

After a few minutes of waiting Laura finally walked in while holding quite the number of documents in her hands. She took her seat and placed all of the documents she was holding in front of her.

She proceeded to look up at me and stated "We have been really busy this week, all these documents you see are all murders that have happened in only five days..."

The number of papers she had counted up to 40, that is merely child's play where I come from.

"That is nothing compared to what's happening in Maru....."

"You are correct, but this isn't a warzone..... These are innocent civilians dying every day in a place that is considered 'Peaceful'... Looking at these documents makes me sick to my stomach. The pile only ever gets bigger, never smaller." Lauras former scary smile turned into a sad one, showing that this city has taken its toll on her mental state.

"That sucks.." Is all I could really say, I didn't know what else to say to her.

"You say it sucks, but then why did you tell that child to kill someone?"

....

POV: Laura Howling (Detective)

I decided to ask the most important question immediately, VIA agents are known for being impossible to crack in questioning, but the boy in front of me is young so I may have a chance to get him to crack.

I can tell with those scars that he's no pushover when it comes to physical combat, but questioning is a whole other type of battlefield.

Those lifeless grey eyes of his never even flinched, the rest of his face stayed completely normal as well. The question didn't even budge him.

"Tell him to kill someone? I never did that, by the time I got to the scene the boy had already killed someone and was attempting to kill the rest. I just stopped him, although I did use physical force."

'....This guy.....'

"Everyone on scene gave the same story, you're telling me that all of them were lying? This includes the victim as well I should mention."

"So you believe gang members and a mentally unstable child who just lost his mother over an agent of the VIA?"

'Just what kind of people do the VIA produce? How can he lie through his teeth like that and threaten me at the same time like nothing?'

"Answer me Laura...." The tone of his voice got way colder than it already was. I tried to calm myself down but couldn't, his words were like a gun being held to my head threating to blow it off without any hesitation.

"No No, I believe you. I'm so sorry for taking your time. You can leave now." I stated robotically as I couldn't even think straight, let alone talk.

"Oh okay, but first bring that kid to me. He's coming with me to the VIA headquarters since he's a prodigy, also that's an order."

"But....but he just lost his mother how..." My words were cut off by words by the monster in front of me."

"That is an order." He stated while also releasing some his aura which terrified me. I simply got up and went to go grab the child, I didn't want to lose my life today, after all I have a child of my own to take care of...

....

POV: Azrail Diggory

Laura left the room to hopefully grab the child, I just stayed in the seat hoping my threats were enough for her to listen to me.

Her question truly did throw me off, I'm shocked she didn't notice. Well to be fair she is a low-ranking detective in the ghetto, so her skill level is probably not that high.

'I still can't believe that kid snitched on me, I'm going to rip that bastard apart once we leave this place....'

Well hopefully she stays true to her words and actually gets the kid. I could sense her fear, but hopefully fear is enough.

A minute has gone by and Laura came back with a small kid with bright red hair. The child had dead eyes along with a bright red face showing he must have cried a lot.

'.... He's scared too, he won't even look at me... I guess beating the shit out of him will wait until later.'

I got up from my seat and grabbed the kid's hand, he showed no resistance and followed me out the police station. As I was leaving a heard a low crackly voice come from behind me.

The voice sounded out the word monster, I took a glance behind me to see Laura with her head down. I had nothing to say to her and continued walking to leave the building.

As we made our way outside, I stopped for a second to ask the kid a question.

"Do you want to die?"
