Chapter 380: Season 2 Book 15, Justice and Ideology – 4-2 Puzzle Solved

November 23, 2023, at 14:30 (Russian time 09:30)

The Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Russia As President Putin was left alone in the Oval Office, he crossed his legs and placed them on the desk before he slowly read the report he had received from Dmitry Alenicev.

“This was the driving force behind the Americans that enabled them to lead the world economically and militarily,” President Putin muttered in a slightly sarcastic tone, threw the report onto his desk, and sat deep in thought.

“Anyway, now I have a hidden card in my hand. I can use it to put pressure on Trump. I will make sure to use it properly.”

During World War II, as Europe devolved into a sea of fire, the United States government voluntarily pursued isolation and observed the situation without the intent to interfere. However, it wasn’t until underprivileged Manchuria was attacked by Japan, which wanted to conquer Asia, that they decided to actively participate in World War II.

Although Pearl Harbor was an island, the fact that their territory had been attacked enraged the Americans, who then rushed to enlist in the army. At that time, the voluntary enlistment rate in the United States reached 90%, and many who failed the physical examination committed suicide.

The day of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor was dubbed the “Day of Disgrace,” and the “War Participation Act” was unanimously passed by the United States Senate with 388 votes in favor and only one vote against. The United States government immediately began preparing to participate in the war, and they eventually won in both Asia and Europe.

From a historical point of view, during the Northeast Asian War two years ago, the United States was severely humiliated by the attacks on their territory for the first time.

As Japan’s territory was affected by Corean troops’ attacks, the Japanese government requested assistance from the United States, who responded by launching up to 500 intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) to the Korean Peninsula.

The attacks with nuclear missiles on non-nuclear countries were condemned by all countries on the planet, which was a major issue that could give all countries that had signed the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty a reason to leave the agreement. Therefore, the United States responded by reporting to the United Nations Security Council that only 100 intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) with no nuclear warheads had been launched.

However, the 500 ICBMs (intercontinental ballistic missiles) were intercepted from outer airspace after failing to reach the atmosphere, let alone the Korean Peninsula. Furthermore, the Corean military’s “God’s Wrath” operation was then launched in earnest, and the entire U.S. mainland was attacked with weapons comparable to nuclear bombs, shocking most Western countries as well as the U.S.

As a result, military experts from around the world predicted that the US would maintain its full offensive against Corea, but they were all wrong.

A few days before Japan’s surrender, the United States issued a mysterious statement: The United States will exit the Northeast Asian War with only a slight diplomatic conflict with Corea.

The global media, which knew nothing about the internal circumstances of the United States government behind their stand on the Corean government, mocked them, saying that the United States, like China and Japan, had knelt to Korea.

However, each country’s intelligence agencies stepped up and attempted to gather their own information on whether the U.S. really did surrender to Corea or not.

Russia also sent the Red Team, the best in the SVR, to the United States, and it took them two years to finish their investigations and deliver their findings to President Putin.

Beep!

Having been lost in thought for a while, Putin then pressed the intercom. His secretary’s voice came from the intercom.

Yes, Mr. President.

“In five hours, call the president of the United States on the hotline!”

Yes, I got it.

With a slight smile, Putin gave his instructions briefly.

He was very interested in Trump’s reaction.

Nam Joo National Intelligence Service (Information Analysis Office) in Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Da Dak Da Dak Da Dak Da Dak! Da Dak Da Dak!

Only the sound of typing on the keyboard could be heard in a large analysis room. Sometimes, intelligence agents could be heard talking, but their voices were drowned out by the sound of their keyboards.

About 30 agents were analyzing and organizing vast amounts of data related to the bombing in the assassination of Kim Jong-un on the 17th under the supervision of Lee Il-woo, Director of the intelligence analysis office.

The incident began with information obtained by the ACS, which was secretly operated after Kim Jong-un awoke from a coma. Even though that it was obtained illegally, it was critical in this case and could be considered the case’s backbone.

Adding to it the information obtained from the criminals involved in the assassination attack, beginning with Jo Myung-rok, and putting together the most recent piece of information obtained from Kim Hyung-chul and Woo Byung-hoo.

Finally, the puzzle was solved by uncovering who was behind the events that led to the riots that erupted across the country in response to the incident.

Even though it had been solved, there was some delay in organizing the complicated situation and turning it into a report.

“When will it be over?” First Vice Minister Youn Yeon-joon, who was sitting on one side, looked at the clock and asked.

Director Lee Il-woo answered politely, “It looks like the report will be completed around 8 o’clock.”

“Eight o’clock! The president is anxiously waiting.”

“I’m sorry. I’m currently organizing it so that it’s as simple and clear as possible.”

“I’m the one who should apologize; despite your hard work, I’m putting pressure...”

White House, Washington, D.C. (Oval Office)

As soon as he woke up, President Trump received a report from his secretary that there was a call request from Putin’s hotline, thus he went to work early with an interpreter.

President Trump, who disliked Putin, was annoyed as he awaited the phone call from the person who had kept him busy early in the morning.

Beep beep! Beep beep!

A short time later, a hotline phone connected to Russia rang.

“Hello.”

“How are you, President Trump? It’s Putin.” President Putin’s voice over the phone was filled with joy.

“Yes, I’ve been fine. Everything has been going well for you, President Putin?”

“What could have happened? Hahaha”

As he had expected, President Putin had something to say.

“Tell me the reasons for your call.” President Trump, who did not want to talk on the phone for a long time, immediately got to the point.

“Reasons... I think you’re busy. Okay, then, allow me to speak directly. If a war breaks out between Russia and Corea, will the U.S. be by our side and unconditionally support us?”

“War with Corea?” Surprised, President Trump asked instead of answering.

“I think there may be a war with Korea.” President Putin discussed the war as if it was a trivial matter.

“Doesn’t it seem a little biased for us to side with Russia against Corea?”

“You can think of it as a favor rather than bias.”

“I can’t accept your request.”

“Hahaha, is that how it goes? Then, instead of viewing it as a favor, how about viewing it as a threat?”

“What, are you kidding me this early in the morning?”

For a phone conversation between two presidents, there was some vulgarity, but the interpreters translated gently for each other’s president.

“Haha! I’m not joking.”

“If you’re not, then are you threatening us, the United States? President Putin! If you continue to speak in this ridiculous manner, I will end the call.”

When President Trump tried to put down the phone, he heard a word that he had forgotten for the past two years come out of President Putin’s mouth.

“USSC!”

Surprised for a moment, President Trump paused in his attempt to put down the phone and looked at the interpreter.

“James, what you’re saying is classified as state class secrets, so translate with that in mind.”

Interpreter James felt embarrassed at President Trump’s sudden remarks.

“Oh, yes, Mr. President.”

After speaking with the interpreter, President Trump placed the phone back to his ear and spoke quietly, “President Putin! How do you know that?”

“Is there anything I don’t know? I am aware of everything that occurs in every country in the world.”

President Trump blocked the phone with his hands and cursed, “You cocky bastard!”

“Then let’s go back to business. Listen carefully.”

Cheong Wa Dae (Presidential Office) in Jongno-gu, Seoul

Director Lee Young-jin, who was visiting the Blue House for the first time with First Vice Minister Youn Yeon-joon, appeared nervous.

“Welcome. I heard that the report would be finished by the end of the day, and I’m looking forward to it,” President Choo Un-hee welcomed them while pointing to the sofa in her office.

“I apologize for keeping you waiting, Madam President!”

“Yes, let me see the report.”

The president demanded that Director Lee Young-jin and First Vice Minister Youn Yeon-joon show her the report as soon as they sat on the sofa. It was, after all, a long-awaited report.

“Minister Youn!”

“Yes!”

First Vice Minister Youn Yeon-joon took out two reports from his briefcase and politely handed them to the president.

“This is a full-length report with all the circumstances, and this is a summary. It’s so complicated that I’ve made two reports,” First Vice Minister Youn Yeon-joon explained.

“Really? Then I’ll have to look at this first.”

President Choo Un-hee began by reading the brief report slowly. After reading for a while, she looked surprised.

“Is this true? That’s really scary.”

President Choo Un-hee’s gaze alternated between Director Lee Young-jin and First Vice Minister Youn Yeon-joon.

“I didn’t expect it to be this bad.”

“What the hell! The Russians are...,” President Choo Un-hee was so shocked that she couldn’t finish her sentence.

“Because Russia and China are involved, we must make a strong diplomatic protest.”

When Director Lee Young-jin spoke forcefully, President Choo Un-hee put the report down on the table and sighed deeply. “That is how it should be. I don’t know about China, but I think that Russia will budge. I assumed that after the Korean Peninsula’s reunification, there would be peace. It looks like the neighboring countries would not leave Corea alone. ”

“Madam President! In any case, we have concrete evidence, so Russia will not be able to get away with it easily.”

“Yes, you’ve done a great job.”

“No, I’m sorry I didn’t notice it sooner and couldn’t prevent it. When the case is resolved, I’ll take responsibility and step down.” Director Lee Young-jin bowed his head with sincerity.

“How could that possibly be your responsibility? The National Intelligence Service is not an all-around department, and you can’t figure out everything in advance. Never, ever say that again.”

“But, it is indeed my responsibility...”

“As the president, I am solely responsible. And the NIS still has a lot of work to do. Do you understand what I mean?”

“Ah! Yes.”

“By the way, we need to convene the NSC tomorrow.”
