This meant that they were not detected by Japan’s early warning radar system or the terrestrial radars. Their high altitude had fooled Japan’s different types of radars completely. A moment later, the two flight wings had entered the bombing phase, leaving 25km from their targeted area, the Tsuiki base.
In a finger-tip formation, the four phoenix jets began to escort the rainbow bomber flight wing. The two jets at the right finger took the lead, while the two jets at the left finger moved to the rear.
Major Choi Young-Ho, the flight wing commander of the rainbow flight wing spoke to Major Jeon Chang-Bin, call sign Rainbow 1, in a joking tone.

It created a large mushroom cloud and evaporated all the buildings within a 500m radius. The other areas had their terrain split and shook as if an earthquake was taking place. It was as if an 8th-degree earthquake had hit the Tsuiki base. Also, from the skies, 14 plasma cluster bombs exploded at once and sprayed steel rain down on a 5km area.

When the rainbow flight wing was detected by the radar for a few moments when they dropped their bombs, the flight wings at the Kitakyushu air force deployed 16 heavily armed F-22 jets to retaliate.
The rainbow flight wing banked left, and moved towards its second target, while the black moon flight wing turned 30 degrees left and entered into a dog fight with the 16 F-22 raptor jets.
Since the distance between the two jets was so close, and the F-22 raptor jets had the powerful AN/APG-77 radars, the black moon flight wing was accurately detected by the Japanese jets.

The S-AAM-50 Magpie viper missiles were superior in speed, and they vaporized the eight F-22 raptor jets moving in the fingertip position. Since they were at such a close distance, the F-22 jets were unable to make evasive maneuvers and crashed after bursting into flames. The surviving jets split into two flight wings after seeing their comrades crashing to the surface and began to make evasive maneuvers.
The eight AIM-9X super sidewinder missiles had detected the heat coming from the phoenix jets and still flew towards their targets.

The F-22 jets all began to go under JINK maneuvers* to get the enemy jets off their tail. However, since they were locked on by the phoenix jets, they were unable to leave the line of fire.
*JINK maneuver: a maneuver to fool the enemy’s targeting system by moving the plane in an irregular pattern, and also to evade the enemy jet’s gunfire.
Major Choi Young-Ho felt it was overkill to use the S-AAM-200 rattlesnake (mid-range air-to-air missiles) but he gave the order to attack. Soon the 4 phoenix jets tailing the enemy emitted blue flames and the rattlesnake missiles all flew towards the target. The four remaining F-22 jets blew up.

The four F-22 jets all blew up in the air. The remaining two F-22 jets all made a break turn and faced the phoenix jets that were tailing them. They locked on and launched their AIM-9L sidewinder missiles.
