Chapter 83 83:Martial Spirit Awakening Ceremony

Harmony Peak Academy, Aetheria Prime

In the vast auditorium, various colors flashed over the stage where Albert Frost, the current Principal of Harmony Peak Academy, stood holding a microphone.

Before him sat a large number of students.

Some were tense and nervous, filled with worry, while others were excited about the upcoming event that could change their lives.

Holding the microphone, he addressed everyone.

"My dear students and their respected parents! Before beginning the awakening ceremony, I have a few words and advice that I want to share with you."

Albert paused, looking around at the students, and proceeded forward.

"Martial Spirit often pertains to a unique manifestation or embodiment of power that cultivators possess. This spirit might represent their innate abilities, combat techniques, or even a sentient entity that cultivators can merge with or summon to enhance their strength."

"In simpler terms, Martial Spirit in most cases is the representation of one's soul. One shouldn't be saddened by the fact of awakening a low-rank Martial Spirit because, in the end, it's the cultivation that matters the most. What good is it if you awaken a Rank 10 Martial spirit, but you are stuck at Martial Disciple throughout your life? So, I want you not to be burdened by these things and focus mainly on cultivation."

Albert gave a brief overview of the awakening ceremony and the scale of Martial Spirit, which was ranked from Rank 1 to Rank 10. The scale was based on the effect the Spirit has when it's released and the pressure it exerts.

That's the most plausible measuring scale humanity has been able to learn.

"Martial Spirit might have been a great help in the fight in case of a surprise attack or special effect brought by it; however, it's a double-edged sword. If the manifestation of your Martial Spirit is injured gravely by the enemy, then you might suffer from soul damage, be paralyzed for your entire life, or, in the worst case, soul death."

The students' hearts stirred a bit upon hearing the warning. Many of them, who were previously excited, now became tense.

Su Lin, standing behind the crowd, lowered her head with a sigh.

The Martial Awakening ceremony generally happens in the 1st week of April. But the date was advanced because Lin Fang and Seph's fight drew the higher-up attention, making them hopeful about their prospects.

"I thought I could find Leon before the ceremony; it seems this was just my wish," Su Lin gave a dry smile with lifeless eyes.

Despite her best efforts, she wasn't able to find Leon, who vanished as if he never existed. Though she didn't want to believe this, alas...

"It seems I should harden my heart for the worst-case scenario," Su Lin muttered to herself bitterly and looked at the stage where students started climbing up.

"Emily Johnson," the announcer announced the girl's name who walked up the stage and put her hands on a whitish orb.

Seeing no reaction, the announcer sighed and spoke aloud.

"Emily, you don't have a Martial Spirit, but no need to feel down; just give your best."

Emily sorrowfully exited the stage in embarrassment.

"Next!"

A series of five people after her didn't awaken any martial spirit.

"John Weiss!"

"HOOOOOOHHHH!"

John waved his hand to curb the excitement among the students, mainly girls who gave him infatuated looks.

He cast his brilliant smile and spoke loudly.

"Calm down, girls. Wait for me to awaken my anaconda," John winked, making the girls blush.

"Che! How vulgar," a teacher spat in anger.

Su Lin tilted her head and asked, "Vulgar! What vulgar word did he say?"

The female teacher almost fell on her butt hearing this and tried to shift the topic.

"I am talking about the boy. I just meant he is a bad boy," she explained to her.

John, with an arrogant look, glanced at the crowd from the stage as if they were just some bugs. He eyed Seph who, ignoring him, chatted with Ella, infuriating him.

'Hmm! Let's see how long you can be smug after I awaken my Martial Spirit."

With this thought, he put his hands on the crystal ball, and the next moment, a faint ripple of air flashed around, and a huge dark visage erupted behind John.

"RRRRRRRRRR!"

A soul-shrieking roar echoed, making the crowd go crazy.

The announcer looked at the assessor screen that analyzed the Martial Spirit grade and identity list and he shouted.

"Rank 5 Martial Spirit Black Gorilla!"

The moment his words fell, the cheers in the crowd stopped abruptly. The boys who were feeling sour spat out in shock and disbelief.

John felt an electric shock ringing in his body and on looking back he saw the figure manifesting into a bloody gorilla.

"Fuck....This can't be. My Martial spirit can't be a gorilla," John screamed madly like a beast. It's better to have a rank 1 Martial spirit than this ugly gorilla.

It took a few moments to handle the drama as the guards of the Weiss family who came with John's father forcefully dragged him off the stage.

"Okay, onto the next," the announcer wiped off the sweat from his forehead and shouted into a megaphone.

"Rank 3, Blue Dolphin, Mia Gracia."

"Rank 1 Flaming Sparrow, Jack Alphonso.

"Hoho! What do we have here?"

"Rank 7, Tyrannosaurus,"

Students clapped seeing a huge dinosaur shaking the stage with its roar awakened by David Rodriguez.

"Rank 5, Unicorn, Luo Yang,"

"Lin Fang!"

Lin Fang got up from his seat with a blank expression and walked onto the stage, glancing at Seph.

He believed in himself and his ability. There is no way his soul is inferior to Seph or anyone. He was bound for greatness so shall his spirit.

The students and teachers watched, wearing great anticipation on their faces.

The white orb operates as rays of white light emitted, creating a magical sight. A blinding flash illuminates the entire room that was enveloped by greenish austere.

Lin Fang, body convulsed as he saw a vision of a large tree devouring the whole world, making a myriad of civilizations trembling in its wake.

As the light finally fades, everyone is taken by surprise.

The announcer, with a flabbergasted look, scratched his head and announced with a frown that he had never seen such a thing.

"Rank 1, Spirit Grass,"
