839 Four Pillars: Skill Overhaul (2)

[Azure Energy Mark] (Lv. MAX)

Rarity: ???

Shadow Energy: 89/89

Azure Energy: 89/89

Quality (Shadow Energy): 3rd Cleansing (Legendary)

Quality (Mana): 3rd Cleansing (Legendary)

Quality (Azure Energy): Sign (Common)

Chaos, destruction, and death. These properties are considered to be what makes up Shadow Energy.

Order, creation, and life. These properties are considered to be what makes up mana.

For ages, many throughout the universe have considered the two to be the exact polar opposites of another, the antithesis of each other's existence.

However, thanks to the flexibility and near-infinite potential that mana holds, there is a possibility that the two could be found on the same coin, with each acting as one of its sides.

There have even been speculations that the two could be fused to create a higher form of energy, combining the best of both worlds to tap into a level of power normally unachievable.

Fortunately, on one fateful day, a denizen of the Shadow Plane has made this speculation a reality, combining the two to form an energy now well-known throughout the vast universe.

Azure Energy.

This skill allows the user to tap into both Shadow Energy at any time, not needing to form a connection with the Shadow Plane anymore to do so. This skill also allows the user to store Shadow Energy within their bodies, the amount of which could be improved through the absorption of Shadow Energy contained within the creatures of the Shadow Plane.

Aside from that, this skill allows the user to store Azure Energy within their bodies, its amount equal to which of the two energies needed to make Azure Energy is lower (Current target: Shadow Energy).

This skill also allows the user to gain a boosting effect from both Shadow and Azure Energy, with each point currently within the user's body boosting their physical and mental stats by 0.15% (Current boost: 26.7%)

Due to the improved quality of the energies within the user's body, a portion of the energies' boosting effects have become permanent.

As of current, this skill permanently boost the user's physical and mental stats by 12.5%, the user's max HP and MP by 12.5%, and the user's Attack and Defense stat by 2.5%.

[You have awakened the property of Shadow slumbering within Shadow Energy. Attacks using this energy have a small chance to remain undetected by the enemy until the critical point.]

[You have awakened the property of Boundless slumbering within Shadow Energy. Attacks using this energy have extended effects and are able to last longer without the user's active manipulation.]

"Hiss…" Sucking in a deep breath of cold air as he read through the skill's description, Valyr was left at a slight loss for words with how powerful the Azure Energy Mark was.

Carrying over the effects of the two mark-based skills he previously had, the young man was certain that the Azure Energy Mark would eventually grow to give him a lot more than what he was seeing right now.

Especially after he had noticed that the skill now also increased both his Attack and Defense stat.

'I'm guessing that's due to the Azure Energy,' thought Valyr to himself, feeling like it made a lot of sense.

Eventually, the feeling of awe he felt towards the skill gradually subsided, instead being replaced with a sort of realization as he read through the description once more.

"I should really increase the amount of Shadow Energy I have," muttered Valyr to himself, recalling that Noel said that the requirements to improve the Shadow Serpent Lancer subclass was to have a thousand points of Shadow Energy.

Though, with how his subclass was a variant of that subclass, as well as the fact that he now had access to Azure Energy, he wasn't sure whether that requirement would still hold up.

Shrugging his shoulders at the thought, he then closed the description screen he brought up, returning his attention once more to the notifications he had yet to read.

[As you have unlocked Azure Energy, you have obtained the passive skill 'Mana Empowerment'.]

[As you have unlocked Azure Energy, your skills 'Shadow Energy Empowerment' and 'Mana Empowerment' have fused together to form 'Azure Energy Empowerment'.]

[Note that the properties of both skills have carried over into this skill.]

[Due to your actions, you have obtained the passive skill 'Art of the Four Azure Paths'.]

"Huh."

Reading through his notifications yet again, Valyr noticed that he had gained a brand new skill thanks to obtaining Azure Energy.

Though he already had an idea of what the skill did from its name alone, the young man still brought up its description before him, only to find out that he was only beginning to scratch the surface of what it was capable of.

[Art of the Four Azure Paths] (Lv. MAX)

Rarity: Epic

Chaos, destruction, and death… description has been omitted.

Though Azure Energy is already considered a pinnacle of sorts for one to strive towards, just like one of the predecessors making up the energy, it still holds near-infinite potential that one could make use of.

However, rather than this potential appearing in the energy themselves, it instead appears in the concepts and understandings that one would use to form the Azure Energy in the first place.

And in the user's case, the concept of the Four Elements has allowed Azure Energy to take on a new shape.

This skill allows the user to imbue the four foundational elements into their Azure Energy, allowing it to take on the properties of the element while also taking on the form of a beast related to that element.

The beasts that would form depending on the element, as well as the elements' specific effects are as follows:

Fire - Azure Phoenix (Lingering damage) | (4% understanding of the beast)

Water - Azure Turtle (Flexibility) | (2% understanding of the beast)

Wind - Azure Dragon (Speed) | (5% understanding of the beast)

Earth - Azure Tiger (Damage) | (2% understanding of the beast)

The improvement brought about by the infusion of elements into the user's Azure Energy depends on the depth of the user's comprehension regarding the concept of the Four Elements, as well as the depth of the user's understanding regarding the beasts themselves.

In its current state, the infusion of elements improves the skill by 7.5% in regards to the elements' specific effects.

Note that further experimentation and understanding of the Four Elements and the beasts would allow the user to fuse the form of beasts and elements later down the line, allowing the skills to further benefit from the infusion.

Scratching his head as he read through the skill a few more times to make sure his understanding was correct, Valyr soon let out a sigh as he closed the screen.

Then, looking at Sellifer, the young man flashed a bitter smile.

"What's wrong?" asked Sellifer after seeing Valyr's expression.

"Nothing." Valyr shook his head in response. "It's just that I'm wondering how long it'll take me to refit all of my skills to use Azure Energy."

"Better to get started, then," said Sellifer as she let out a faint chuckle. "With how one of your Intent Seed has changed the property of your Azure Energy to be more unique, I'm sure it'll take longer for you to do so."

"Well, I'm sure the results will make the effort more than worth it." Valyr smiled back, recalling the notification he'd gotten regarding [Arcane Shadow Bolt] transforming into a new skill altogether.

With that in mind, the young man took in a deep breath to compose himself, somewhat excited for what was to come.

"Alright…"

"Let's get this over with."
