Chapter 835 Four Pillars: A New Stage

After giving himself some time to acclimate to the new and improved connection he had with the world, Valyr returned his attention to the barren ground and took a look at the series of notifications he had received.

Seeing that his Intent Seed of Shadow Energy had finally advanced to the Culmination Stage, a faint smile appeared on his face as he thought about how he now had three Intent Seeds more than ready to become a proper Intent.

'Then again, it was just a matter of time before this happened,' inwardly muttered the young man to himself, recalling how most of the Intent Seed had progressed thanks to the interventions of the Gates of Enlightenment.

With how much experience and understanding he had gained revolving around Shadow Energy through his fights and his current session with Sellifer, the question was more of a when than a how.

'Still, I thought the Intent Seed would change into the Intent Seed of Azure Energy or something,' thought Valyr, recalling the overall understanding he had gained from the burst of enlightenment just now.

Though it mostly talked about the interaction between mana and Shadow Energy at the start and how they could take the place of the another, the final part talked about tapping into the true power within both.

And the understanding mentioned that one way of doing so was by forming Azure Energy.

Taking in a few deep breaths to compose himself, Valyr continued to look through his notifications to see if there were any notifications he had missed.

Aside from the many notifications he received after refitting his skills to work with the braided energy, the young man also realized then and there that his attempt at upgrading his Shadow Energy to 3rd Cleansing.

Though the notification that truly caught his attention was the one that contained additional information on his newly upgraded Intent Seed.

Ding!

[One could take on the form of another. But only by having two can there be the form of one.]

[Only by achieving the one can greater power be realized. Only by achieving the one can greater avenues be opened. Only by achieving the one can greater paths be shown.]

Reading between the lines of the cryptic approach the additional information had taken, Valyr felt that it greatly matched up with the understanding he had gained from the enlightenment itself.

Though, as he went over the notification once more, Valyr felt as if it was just stating the obvious.

After all, if he were to gain access to Azure Energy, he would gain better prospects in the future overall.

Deciding to not think about it any further, Valyr closed his notification screen, only to notice that Sellifer was looking at him with disbelief once more.

Understanding that it was highly improbable for something like what happened with the Intent Seed of the Four Elements to happen yet again, the young man bitterly smiled as he told her of his newly improved Intent Seed.

Thankfully, it did not take long for Sellifer to calm herself down, once again reminding herself that she was teaching a Zeihardt.

A Zeihardt that reminded her of their clan's ancestor from sheer talent alone at that.

After a bit more talking with her on how he was going to integrate the newly upgraded Intent Seed into the entire thing, Valyr soon returned his attention to upgrading his mana to 3rd Cleansing.

In the end, it took more or less the same amount of time it took him to upgrade his Shadow Energy to the same stage, totaling the amount of time he had spent upgrading both energies to 3rd Cleansing to three months.

With both energies now at 3rd Cleansing, Valyr began acclimating himself to the increase in purity by infusing it into his skills once more.

Unsurprisingly, the upgrade in purity had increased the potency of the skills once more while also reducing the cost it took to activate them.

Feeling like he had gotten used to the upgraded purity, he then began to infuse the Intent Seed of the Four Elements into the mix, allowing the skills to ascend to another level of power altogether.

At this point, Sellifer even began to wonder whether there was even a need for Valyr to achieve the Azure Trace in the first place, sensing that the strength contained with his braided energy was already not that far off from the actual Azure Trace.

Then again, as he was clueless as to what was going on in the woman's mind, the young man continued to strive towards achieving the Azure Trace.

With that, he decided to try and infuse the Intent Seed of Shadow Energy into the braided energy, acting as a balance of sorts to the Intent Seed of the Four Elements he was already fusing into it.

Unsurprisingly, the infusion of another Intent Seed into the mix caused Valyr to lose a great portion of the progress he had made thus far.

Though, with how he already knew the trick behind the creation of the braided energy, it did not take long for the man to infuse both Intent Seeds into it, making the young man feel as if he was incredibly close to the final goal.

With reinforced Shadow Energy as well as mana that could take on the properties of one of the four elements at any time, the young man thought to himself that it was only a matter of time before he stumbled upon the trick to form the Azure Trace.

As this thought came to mind, Valyr wondered whether his eventual formation of the Azure Trace would be stronger than Sellifer's since he would be fusing two Intent Seeds into it at once.

'Probably not,' thought Valyr to himself after a bit of thinking. 'After all, she had a high-tier Force powering hers in the first place.'

Shrugging his shoulders at the thought, the young man returned his focus to the task at hand, having done everything he could at this point to prepare himself for the final step.

Unexpectedly, even with Sellifer's aid here and there, it had taken Valyr over a year and three months to finally achieve what was considered the main goal of the inheritance.

However, rather than the Azure Energy appearing in the form of a light in Valyr's hands…

It instead took on the form of a haze.
