Chapter 130:

Seeing David Taylor’s rejoicing face was unexpected.

It was incomprehensible to see such a polite manner and expression as if he saw a noble guest.

It couldn’t be blamed.

‘What’s going on……?’

As I have yet to do anything worth being welcomed from him.

In fact, I’ve ignored his plans and cleared the 13th floor by myself once.

Of course, I did it because I thought it was more efficient back then.

David, who tried to clear the challenge meticulously according to his own plans, might have had negative feelings towards me.

But instead, his awed expression was seriously confusing me.

And others seemed to think the same.

The magicians at the higher end of the table were discussing among themselves in confusion.

“T-the elder took off his robe? Who the hell…. No, who is that person?”

“Are they some type of a respected hermit or something…..? Otherwise, our elder would never act like that.”

“But by disciple, aren’t they challengers chosen by the administrators of the towers? What good are they?”

As if the magicians never treated me like a mere pebble, they started to discuss quite a bit.

David Taylor must’ve been at a high position seeing how during their discussion, they seemed to be wary of my mood.

Seeing that scenery before them, other hunters took a glance at me to engage in their own discussion.

“Oh, I know him. You know, that Korean challenger back in Japan.”

“Ah, Ghostblade…. So he was famous. But what kind of relationship do they have…..?”

“Have they met during a challenge? But his reaction is…..”

I suppose my information was well known seeing how all the hunters seemed to know something about me.

Just like that, everyone inside the conference room began to theorize my relationship with David Taylor.

But, both the magicians and the hunters had something wrong…….

‘…..what kind of situation is this?’

As I, the topic of this entire discussion myself, was also dumbfounded at the current situation.

I tried to think of the reasons why David was so friendly towards me.

And

‘Is it because I told them that I was the delegate of a god……?’

I made a quick theory.

It was likely since I absorbed some faith from activating Faith harvest.

But even so, the friendliness that David was showing was inexplicable.

But

「Power ‘Faith Harvest’ is detecting a strong faith towards the user.」

「It is faith that has already been harvested by Power ‘Faith Harvest’.」

「Power ‘Faith Harvest’ is not activated.」

I got the answer to this situation from the message that appeared.

Faith Harvest.

The cause of this was from the power acquired after defeating the vampire count at the 13th floor.

The lie that I told in order to harvest the faith back then must’ve affected David significantly.

Although the exact process of the snowballed misunderstanding was not certain, it was obvious that he had the wrong idea.

‘A strong faith…….’

It was almost as if I became a leader of a cult.

But I had no intention of resolving David’s faith.

Since my plan was…

‘I’m going to let this be.’

This situation was going to benefit me after all.

Although I am not an actual disciple, I did have divine powers along with myths and powers.

With this, I couldn’t be classified as a typical challenger.

So no matter what I said, it wouldn’t be outright deemed as a lie.

I opened my mouth to speak in a calm tone at that thought.

“Please, no need to call me a disciple. Please address me more casually”

David let out a serene smile at that.

“How could I casually address a delegate of god?”

With that sentence, the magicians started talking among themselves as if an explosion occurred.

And eventually, one of the magicians quietly approached David to ask him.

“E-elder…. Just what does the delegate of god mean….?”

“It means what it means. Challenger Han SungYeun is a delegate of god.”

“I’m sorry? A god? What is…. I mean, towers are of the realm of incomprehensibility I suppose, but…….”

“We have administrators on top of powers. What’s so incomprehensible about it?”

David Taylor sharply cut back with a soft voice.

“I personally received powers and had it recorded in the magic tower, I don’t get why you can’t accept the truth.”

“B-but elder, that’s a different concept from delegate of…..”

“Delegates of god are just another challenger with a better power. However, the power they display is on a different level from the typical challengers.”

After speaking, David looked towards the magicians with a narrowed eye.

“Tsk. the ones set out to explore the unknown are the ones unaccepting of new discoveries.”

It was not certain if it was because it was the words of an elder, or if his speech was logical…..

“Mind your manners, he is deserving of such respect.”

The magicians were forcibly turned polite after getting yelled at by David.

It was a good sight considering how arrogant they were before this.

And with this, the conversation should flow much smoothly so it was a satisfying result.

The only issue was, the unrelated people’s attitudes also changed.

Even the hunters seated at the very end were glancing at me, wary of my mood.

‘….oh well, at least the conversation should flow comfortably.’

Someone poked my back as I attempted to have a seat at the center of the room’s attention.

When I turned my sight, Lee Hayeon was frozen from the pressure.

“SungYeun-ssi, i-is it true…? That you’re a delegate of a god…..?”

I felt my mind go blank at that.

“…….”

……I supposed I also managed to fool an ally unintentionally.

»————- ★ ————-«

After sitting down amidst the many eyes on me.

I managed to explain a little bit about the misunderstanding of the discipleship.

That although a delegate of god, it’s no more than just being a little better than others.

However, the situation did not change much since I did not deny being a delegate of god.

‘……oh well, it’s better than being ignored by them like before.’

David Taylor interrupted my thoughts.

“Now that the delegate of god is here, let me explain the situation before the subjugation mission.”

The man assumed to be the hunter associations personnel lowered the screen.

After a moment, the picture of big ben, the landmark of London appeared.

The symbolic building that people think of even before the magic tower of the clock tower guild.

However, in that picture, what was supposed to be a clear sky near the building, was a black orb.

“After the annihilation, the challenger from an alternate dimension created that black orb and went inside of it.”

David continued on with a serious expression.

“According to our research, the black orb on top of the big ben is a type of a barrier.”

Afterwards, he explained the properties of the barrier briefly.

That it is a high ranking barrier unbreakable even if hundreds of magicians were to pour in their mana.

And that the otherworldly challenger is most likely preparing for something inside of the orb.

The listener’s expressions turned grim at that.

‘It’s not surprising that they’re nervous.’

Since it meant that once that black orb broke, no one would know what disaster would follow.

However, David Taylor did mention that they had a way.

“The challengers of the towers get stronger through acquiring all types of skills and powers. Which means that the black orb in the sky can also be destroyed by a skill or a power.”

The expressions of the hunters were not good even after hearing everything.

“From what I heard, that black orb was left untouched even after a group attack by the clock tower guild……”

“But the type of skill or power that can destroy that insane barrier would not be common.”

“Hmmm….. And here I thought that we can just go defeat something together, the situation got harder.”

The UK hunters association most likely assumed that among the higher ranked challengers, one of them was bound to have a skill that could break that black orb…..

‘As they said, such a skill would not come easy.’

Even in different dimensions, they belittled the power of the earthly dimension as being quite low.

Even if one was a high ranking challenger, there would be no way to break a barrier unbroken by a group attack of an entire guild.

However,

“I think it should be breakable.”

That story only included a typical challenger.

“I will break that black orb.”

At this point, I have grown a lot through the battle with Nam GungHyuk.

And……..

『Skill – Sky Break (A+)』

『Proficiency – 0%』

『Basic Effect – You can apply the absolute destruction status on the body or a weapon by using mana..』

『Detailed Effect – Can cut through mana itself, but will require more mana the harder the item is to be cut.』

The newly acquired skill, Sky Break.

If that black orb is a type of magic, then it’s an object composed of mana.

Then using the absolute destruction affinity, I could destroy the mana itself to break the barrier.

“H-how on earth…. Not even a group attack of the magic tower could scratch the black orb……”

Of course, one of the magicians said in disbelief.

“I have few special powers because I’m a disciple.”

“…….”

Being revealed to be a disciple due to David, I had no obligation to further explain myself.

Since many things can be solved by using the title of delegate of god.

“But, because I am an apostle, I have to use a lot of things to use the power of god….”

And another good thing was that I did not have to explain every little thing.

“Not only will my mana and divine powers be used up, but I will also need items acquired from the towers as sacrifice.”

Additional errands require additional compensation.

“Skill proficiency potion, skill mastering books, anything will do.”

I was being shameless claiming to be the delegate of god, so it was time to raise the value of my labor.

“If you can sponsor items from the tower that I can use for the power of god, that’d be appreciated.”

Tons of money are to be invested for the power of religion.

…..I think.
