Chapter 200: The Unspoken

Inside the meditation sphere, Hua Mi had already reviewed the recorded content. Taking on the role of a guide, he introduced various pieces of information to Fulin along with his speculations.

The first encounter was with a series of mysterious characters. Hua Mi suspected it might be the password to unlock some hidden treasure.

Considering the recent information, could this password correspond to the location where the Devil's Pact documentation is concealed?

Fulin found this very plausible.

Simultaneously, she interpreted the meaning behind these characters.

"These characters are not just random symbols, but a language," she told him.

This revelation surprised Hua Mi.

Considering that giants had been extinct for millennia, deciphering Giant language was even more challenging than deciphering Earth's oracle bone script.

The Witch Academy actually taught this? Truly an elite organization.

"The current dean has a profound interest in the Giants. Upon taking office, they initiated research on the Giant language. Based on some ancient relics, they decoded bits of the Giant language. However, the Giant language is exceptionally intricate, with logic entirely different from human languages. Deciphering it is extraordinarily difficult. What's been deciphered so far is just the tip of the iceberg, and coincidentally, these characters happen to be the ones already decoded."

"So, what does it mean?"

Pure curiosity.

Fulin's lips twitched, "My heart forever with you..."

She finished, shivered, and rubbed her arms, goosebumps forming all over.

"I suspect the dean taught him that..."

"..."

Quite the game they're playing.

Even the phrase "learning a foreign language" has been nearly overplayed.

Next came the steps to create the revenant.

Fulin scoffed after seeing it, "Knew he'd stolen knowledge of other forbidden arts, no surprises there."

However, Fulin wasn't concerned about it. She mentioned that while creating a revenant was also taboo, its potential harm compared to the Devil's Pact was minimal. If stolen, it was stolen, no big deal.

Indeed.

Creating a revenant only sought vengeance on a specific target, abiding by the idea of settling a grievance, and had negligible impact on the world's order.

The subsequent Devil's Pact, though, made Fulin draw in a cold breath.

"To actually make a deal with the Devil, that guy... truly insane!"

Even the witch dared not stare at the pact for long.

"Does your academy happen to have research on Devil's script too?" Hua Mi joked.

"Research Devil's script?" Fulin shook her head. "Even merely seeing Devil's script would be consumed by negative emotions. I can't think of anything crazier in this world than that."

Researching the Abyss... how about that? Hua Mi thought; this world wasn't lacking in madness, indeed.

The past vividly flashed before him.

Finally, there was the half-ghost body roaming technique.

This wasn't taboo but a rare secret technique.

Mastering it could significantly expand one's possibilities.

As expected, this was also stolen from the Witch Academy.

The gray-robed figure sure knew how to milk a sheep.

No wonder the dean felt a mix of love and hate, having to eliminate him.

It's just unclear why there's only half of it.

Fulin said, "The secret technique differs from regular spells and can't be learned through conventional means. Obtaining the other half... is more unusual.

"Here's the deal: help me find the Devil's Pact documentation, and as a thank-you, I'll provide you with the remaining half of the technique, completing your inheritance."

Initially, Hua Mi had intended to provide full assistance.

After all, he didn't want chaos in this world.

"I've thought of a place. The gray robe likely left the pact documents there."

"What place?"

"The Sulka Principality, in the middle stretch of the Yart River, in the abandoned tower outside the Sontiriyavillage."

When he mentioned such a specific address, even the witch couldn't help but be stunned.

"How did you know?"

"It's like this: when I was in Modu previously, I met an adventurer. Guess who she was..."

Hua Mi recounted Zelika's story to Fulin.

Fulin nodded as he listened, "Makes sense. Judging from the timing, it seems that the Gray-robed Onut settled there, stole the covenant documents from our academy, and only left after some time. Presumably, he had already made a pact with the devil by then, so it makes perfect sense for him to leave the documents there. This is valuable information; thank you very much!"

"Not at all, glad I could help."

"So, when can we depart?"

"Huh?"

Huami paused, then said, "I'm only responsible for providing information. Right now, I have other things to attend to... Besides, you can handle that place on your own, right?"

"You're a witch, aren't you? Searching for things, I've given you the address and password. Do you still need my help?"

Fulin didn't continue to persuade him and instead asked, "What's the urgency?"

Huami inexplicably felt it challenging to shake her off and said with a slight headache, "I'm looking for a certain flower."

"Alchemy material?"

"Sort of."

Seeing her persistent inquiry, Huami continued explaining, "When you were not in your right mind, I don't know if you understood the situation here. Simply put, the healing properties of that hot spring are due to a flower spirit."

"Flower spirit?"

Judging by her surprised expression, it seemed the previous events hadn't been clear in her mind.

"Yes, a flower spirit that can heal injuries. You should know that flower spirits usually come from rare flowers. I came here to find that kind of flower, but it seems challenging to locate. Perhaps it's concealed by some magical effect. The villagers searched for a long time before, but they didn't find any rare flowers."

"Oh," Fulin drawled, nodding. Then, she thought of something strange and asked, "According to what you're saying, it seems you still don't know what kind of flower it is?"

"Indeed."

"So, your purpose in finding it..."

"Hobby. I enjoy collecting rare flower varieties."

Fulin, with a witch's smile, teased, "Coincidentally, our academy has done considerable research on magical flowers. If you help me find the covenant documents, in addition to the art of half-spirit wandering, I'll also share the secrets of cultivating flowers. How about that? Of course, I'll help you resolve the issues here first."

"..."

Huami was intrigued.

But, he was also puzzled:

"Why do you insist on bringing me along? Finding the covenant documents is the top priority. You should hurry."

"No rush," Fulin said casually. "After all, it's been missing for so long; a little more time won't matter."

"..."

This was clearly just playing around.

After a brief encounter, that mysterious witch organization no longer seemed so formidable in his eyes.

"Besides," Fulin added, "Gray-robed Onut may have some unique aspects, but he's excellent at hiding things. Otherwise, he wouldn't have deceived us for so long... I believe ordinary people wouldn't notice."

No, she hadn't answered the most critical question.

Seemingly intentionally evading it.

Huami wouldn't let her off so easily and pressed, "So, why must you bring me along?"

"Well," Fulin scratched her pretty cheek, her gaze somewhat evasive.

It seemed there was something difficult to express.
